My 8 hr delay button is stuck on help!

Good Morning Friend, I understand that the 8 hour delay button is stuck on your Frigidaire washer, model# GLTF530DS. With the model number that you have provided, I do not show that there is an 8 hour delay button. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. If further troubleshooting is needed, I ask that you please leave me the model number of your appliance. Typically this can be found either on the back of the door or around the edges where the door meets your washer. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

Shocks broke, now drums spins freely

What you need to check thoroughly are the belt & the 2 shocks (dampers). The dampers should be replaced & fitted tightly, broader ends fitted below.

Hi: Frigidaire GLTF530DSO started

Hello, Welcome to FixYa. I suspect the rear bearing or spider gear is toast, thus the reason the shock absorbers where broke in the first place. Very common for these machines unfortunately. It is a very involved repair either way but if you think you're up to it ( plus, is it worth it ? Parts are in the range of $400-$500 ) I can help in whatever manner possible with those frigidaire washers. I'll watch for your reply. Good luck. Regards, Macmarkus :)

I Have an LTF 530DS. The first problem was that

Hi, when the clothes are wet at the end of a cycle, check these:
  • Motor coupler
  • Spin cycle
  • Siphoning
  • Water-inlet valve

Motor coupler To test the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let the machine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether the tub is spinning: If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine. If it isn't spinning--and your machine was produced by Whirlpool®--you may have a broken coupler. Many Whirlpool-made washers use a small, relatively inexpensive device called a motor coupling. This plastic-and-rubber component is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. When that happens, you need to replace it completely.

Spin cycle If the washer doesn't reach its proper spin speed, the clothes may be too wet at the end of a cycle. Check to be sure the load is properly balanced and run a spin cycle again. If the clothes are still wet, you may have a worn or loose belt (Maytag®), a worn clutch (GE®/Hotpoint®), or a worn motor pulley or tub bearing. Replace the applicable component. Alternatively, there could be clothes caught between the inner and outer tubs. Read the "It spins but won't pump" section of the "It won't drain" section. Also, there could be other things that cause friction on the drive train. Seek the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.

Siphoning If the water that pumps from the machine goes right back into the machine after the spin cycle, it may be because your washer is siphoning the water from a laundry tub with a slow drain, back into the washer. Try to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is there something stuck in the drain?) Also, be sure the drain hose doesn't reach more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub. If it does, cut off the excess.

Water-inlet valve Water-inlet valves eventually fail. One problem that may develop with a water-inlet valve is that it can no longer completely shut off when the electricity is turned off to it. Then, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub--you may notice that your washer has water in it when you haven't used it for a few days. To fix this, replace the valve.

If your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check these:
  • No power
  • Lid switch

No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped?

Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it. Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.

Frigidaire front loader washing machine won't spin...

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Okay the rubber in the opening of the front load

Front load washers need more maintenance than top load units. you might try some bleach on a rag or some vinegar but it's tough to get off once it starts..Make sure your using HE detergent and definitely leave the door open after loads to let the seal dry

When the washer is on the spin cycle...it

The top will come off easily (two screws at rear). You'll get a better idea of the job looking down into the machine. Sounds like a support spring has come loose - the drum hangs from these.
