Lookin for specs

the 1501d is a one channel amp! But has two terminals for that same channel. that amp is stable to produce say 700 watts into 4ohms but also stable to produce 1500 watts into 2ohms.If you were to have two 4ohm speaks it would be easier to have a terminal for each speaker.good amp btw but be careful with their fragile preamp inputs

No out put sound

Check all fuses on the amp first. If the fuses are good then make sure the remote wire is hooked up. If you dont wanna run the remote wire from the amp to the stereo then all you need to do is run a wire from the remote on the amp to the power on the amp. if the remote is not hooked up then you will get NO SOUND

I own a mtx 1501d.Also own a 18

THE AMPLIFIER NEEDS A 1 OHM LOAD AND YOU HAVE THE RIGHT SPEAKER TO PROVIDE THIS LOAD. THE AMPLIFIERS TERMINAL STRIP PROVIDES YOU WITH 2 POSITIVES AND 2 NEGATIVES, BUT THEY ARE ONLY FOR CONVENIENCE WHEN WIRING 2 DRIVERS. ACTUALLY THE 2 POSITIVES ARE THE SAME CONNECTION INTERNALLY ON THE BOARD, AS WELL AS THE 2 NEGATIVES. THAT BEING SAID, THE SIMPLEST WAY TO CONNECT YOUR SPEAKER IS TO PARALLEL THE VOICECOILS IN THE BOX BY CONNECTING THE 2 POS. TOGETHER AND THE 2 NEG. TOGETHER THEN RUN THAT POS. AND NEG. OUT OF THE BOX AND SIMPLY CHOOSE EITHER OF THE 2 POS AND NEG. OF YOUR CHOICE AT THE AMP. IF YOU EVER HAVE TO ADD A SUB, THEN YOU WILL HAVE 2 MORE TERMINAL LEFT OVER ON THE AMP. TO CONNECT IT TO AT THAT TIME. BY ALL MEANS, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RUN EACH COIL SEPARATELY OUT OF THE BOX AND CONNECT THEM TO ALL 4 TERMINALS, THEN THIS IS FINE TOO, AS EITHER WAY, THERE WILL BE NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER. LET ME KNOW IF I CAN BE OF FURTHER ASSISTANCE....V

1501d,, What subs should i use/

I would stick with Kicker or MTX. The best place in my mind to get them is soncelectronix.com
Just try to mach the specs as close as possible. Make sure to look at the recommendations of the subs for the size of the box and the port volume.

Ran it at 1@ now it has low power

Hello if your amp is the one above in the picture, MTX-1501D then your amp is not 1 ohm stable. Your amp is rated at 500 watts x 1 at 4 ohms and 1000 watts x 1 at 2 ohms. The amp has a safety circuit that if it senses to low of a load, ohms, it will only put out half it's power to protect the amp from shorting out. Read the manual. You can download it at retrevo.com or just google it and a manual download site will be in the search list. Hope this hels, Good luck. Mtx thunder 1500 watt amp no sound

Even if there is no visible damage, it could be that one of the transistors is blown, Use a multimeter to check the resistance of the transistors.

I have a mtx thunder 1501d..i have the power cord

Hello tonytone54, The ground should go directly to the vehicle frame, never through a cap, fuse, or anything else. Also, if you are connecting positive through a cap, make sure that you charge the cap before connecting it. Hope this helps.

Amp problem

These amps have a problem with broken shield connections on the RCA jacks. If the shield breaks loose from the frame of the RCA jack, you will have this problem. If you disconnect the amp from power and pull the cover, you can check to see if the shield is loose in the frame. if it is, it needs to be soldered.

You can also have this problem if the shield ground opens on the head unit.

My mtx thunder 1501d car amp making noise in the subwoofers

This is common with pioneer head units, the rca jacks are not properly grounded and this lets engine noise come through the rcs cables. This thread explains a fix http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=337644.

No boom in my box

Whats up!!! well check this out. The sub isnt working at all? don't hear anything from it? more then likely it can be one of the following problems.

before you do these steps make sure that the amp levels are all the way low so you dont have a chance in poping the sub for unnecessary jolts of power

you can check to see if the sub itself is good by getting a AA and touching each of the speaker +- on the sub see if you hear anything. More then likely the sub itself is good.
Moving on to the amp. Do you see any lights? red/green? or none

if no lights check the pos/neg terms and make sure there properly installed. have to check underneath the hood for that while your there check the fuse if its a inline one if not then there should be a fuse located on the amp itself.
if you see green then the amp is getting power and the amp is properly grounded
if nothing check the grounding and make sure thats its connected to the frame of the vehicle either by sanding down a small piece of the metal exposing the silver and using a self-tapping screw.
