Frigidaire FEZ83AS1 washing machine fills with water but won't start cycle

I will answer this in two parts.

1. Sounds like a worn lid switch. Some Units will not start if this switch is worn/faulty. This can cause intermittent switch contact.

2. The motor thermal switch is a definite possibility. This switch is part of the motor assembly and cannot be replaced by itself.

I have a stackable FEx831CSO. The plastic ring that goes around the dryer drum and holds it in place, broke and fell off. The dryer now makes a terrible sound and the drum is slamming around inside.

It can be replaced. Here's a link to your manual for the dryer, which on the 2nd and 3rd pages has a diagram of it and a part number for you...when you have your part number you can order it either directly from Electrolux or find one on Ebay or another online source....if you have a local appliance shop you may be able to get one there as well....here's the link:http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Webster/5995396412.pdf

Pant shuck under drum blocking water outlit to pump , how do I get them out

Hello - Is the washer drain pump now experiencing a humming noise? If so, you possibly have a restriction in the drain line or siphoning. Try setting the cycle to spin only and verify if water pumps out. Supposing that it does not, then it could have possibly caused an issue with either the pump or timer. From this point, honestly I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately since it is such a complex unit.

Dyer wont spin

Hi - When was the last time the ducting in your home was cleaned and confirmed that it has no debris or build up? Turn the breaker to the unit off for 5-6 minutes. Turn the unit's power back on and try a cycle again. If this does not prove to be successful here are a few possible causes that a technician would be required to check: defective heating element, control board, blower assembly, power supply (240v), high limit thermostat or defective sensor.

DRYERISSQUEEKING3/4HORSEPOWER

Hello - Sounds like the tub could be unbalanced from either a bearing/pulley suspension problem or the unit has broken something off in between the tub and outer portion of the unit before you get to the walled panels, and you are hearing a rubbing and thumping noise. This is not a typical DIY job since the entire back panel of the unit needs to be pulled off and diagnosed.

Washer only start when drier is on.

Hello Reinaldo Rivera - From what you have described the unit seems to either have a communication problem with the control, an issue with the wiring harness or a faulty door switch. Try resetting the unit by flipping the household circuit breaker or unplugging. Wait approximately two minutes and turn on the washer. Select a normal cycle and if issue continues then I suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

Washer not agitating, fills, spins and drains but wont agitate. grease at bottom of shaft above belt puley

Check the splines on the drum. Take the cap off and remove the lock for the nut, take the nut off and you can pull the whole agitator out of the drum. Look at the splines on the shaft and in the agitator. Make sure they are not worn down to nothing.

I have a Fex831c dryer that wont start..

Hello - Since you have previously confirmed that the motor is not burnt, checked the door assembly, etc I would strongly recommend contacting a professional to move forward accurately. I suggest this in the event that the unit has a limited warranty and if you continue it will be voided. The technician usually warranties their labor just in case something else may turn out to be the root cause of your initial problem.

Fex831cso

Hello Penny Kelly - Typically when the water temperatures are wrong, this is usually due to the hoses being connected to the wrong valves. Usually error code E70 or E76 will appear. However, you have already checked the hoses to make sure they are on the correct faucet, connected to the correct valve and that the hose has no kinks or restrictions. I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately since the temperature sensor may be faulty.

Machine keeps filling up, replace pressure switch, still nohting, keeps filling up?

Hello dwl770 - If your washer won't stop filling up with water and overflows the tub, check for one of these problems:

1) Turn off the electricity to the washer. If the water *stopped* filling when power was disconnected, the problem would usually be in the control system of the machine. If the water still continues, then the plunger in the water valve is either stuck open or slow to close. Try turning the water faucets off and on a few times. This small joltmight unstick the water valve. If not, it will need replacing.

2) There could be a problem with the water level switch. Call in a professional.

3) There is a pressure switch hose that is attached to an air dome. This switch tells the washer that there is water in the tub and allows the agitator to start.

- Remove the control panel and you will notice a small hose. See if it popped off of the air dome. If it did, secure it with a zip tie.

If water flow continues, but drains out immediately, then raise the drain hose above the highest water level line of the tub. Do not seal the drain hose to the discharge pipe. This could cause a siphoning action.
