I did solve this problem. The hole where the water enters the fabric dispenser was clogged. I used a pipe cleaner and kept inserting it into the hole and pulling it out. Much gunk came out and the dispenser is working fine now.It was difficult to reach my hand in to insert the pipe cleqner but it worked,

Frigidaire front load washing machine gtlf490e

A machine that drains and doesn't spin usually has a problem with the door latch assembly or with the speed control board. I would bet your speed control board is bad.

You can order a new one from repairclinic.com and if it doesn't fix the problem, return it.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Dark brown stains

Try running a cycle on hot with 1/2 cup dishwasher detergent (powdered) in it. Stop it before it pumps it out and restart again, Do this a few times to get a long scrub action. I don't think its oil as a front load machine doesn't have a transmission. If you think this is a rust stain use a rust remover type product instead of dishwasher detergent.

The door will never open unless the timer is in the off position. Sometimes there is an additional time delay before it will release. If someone tried to force the door they probably bent the latch release. It needs to be replaced.

Spin cycle issue

if this is a frigidaire as in the healine , then see if the tub turns over at all. if not then it may be the inverter board located on the bottom right rear. If there is water left in the tub now that water should drain before it will fill again. check drain pump for obstruction/operation.
for the inverter, there is a techsheet in the bottom attached to the wall, It gives info for checking it. Have a multimeter handy.

Clothes left with grease smears

There are two real possibilities, both are in the washer. The first is
that the gear box seal is failing, and the second is that the fabric
softener dispenser needs to be dismantled and cleaned out.

"When the seal starts to fail, this oil floats up into the wash water
in the form of small black drops. The stains are almost impossible
to remove from clothing. Also, as the oil is leaking up, hot soapy
water is leaking down into the transmission, which will eventually
cause it to fail. As I recall, the seal wasn't difficult to replace,
but to get access to it I basically had to disassemble the whole
machine. The hardest part was pulling the agitator off the shaft - I
used a slide hammer puller. I'd start by pulling the agitator off and
see if you can access the transmission seal that way

Affinity front load washer

Sounds like you have a common problem with the front load washers known as mold and mildew possibly. Between the door and drum, there is a boot that could possibly be getting water trapped in it. This water becomes fowl and will cause mildew to grow. Wash this ring and boot with a strong bleach and water mixture a few times using hot water. After you hopefully get this corrected, be sure to wipe out any leftover water out of this ring, and leave the door open after each wash. Also, be sure that you are using the proper detergent (HE Certified)when you do your washing. Follow your "Use and Care" guide that came with the washer for information on detergent recommendations and cleaning and clearing door seals after your loads. Good luck and hope this may have helped. Frigidaire GLTR1670A Front load washer won't final spin

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too. Use front loading powders.

Top load water filling

While i am by no means a washing machine expert i can tell you with some degree of certainty that you have one of two problems, if not both...

You washing machines pump is clogged up and since the motor doesnt start pumping the control system stops...

You can either tilt the machine on its side ( make sure it is empty and unplugged from the mains ).

The pump can be identified by following the outlet hose into the machine...

Make a note of which wires go where, unscrew any screws holding it in place, gently disconnect the wires, unclamp the pipes on it.

You may want to do this outside as there is probably still some water in the machine that will run out...

Clean it out as good as you can, make sure the outlet hose is clean and unblocked as well.

Refit and it was fitted, give it a go...

If this does not solve your problem the pump / electronics may be burnt out...

New pump : anything from the equivalent of US $ 10 to US $ 50
Electronics : As good as anyones guess

Water spitting out the top of the Siphon tube when filling...

Suggestion: Plug off the wall, etc. Remove the rear cover. There is a thin tube coming from the control panel area to the base where the water exits, this should not be blocked, remove from top and blow to check, refit. This tube controls the water level. Next clean out your outlet filter, it could be clogged, refit. Another thing that could be the problem: Try to take the top of the machine off; there are three tubes coming into the dispenser box, these may hv come loose or something. Connect well.

Frigidaire front loader keeps filling!

You will need to have him replace the Water inlet valve it is located where the hoses connect to the unit.. it sounds like it is stuck open... one thing you can do first is to shut off the water remove the hoses and clean the screens inside the valve you will need a paper clip to pull them out blow into the valve there may just be a peice of something that was in your plumbing stick in there holding open the plunger if that does not work the valve may need replaced
