The spin cycles are getting louder and louder, and

Yes its a bad rear bearing. You need to replace the whole back half of the tub. Very expensive and labor intensive repair. Your better off just replacing the unit. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. _MJ_

I have a Frigidaire front loading washer gallery

Your washer can develop several types of leaks. You can track down a leak based on when it occurs:---
During fill only
If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these:
Air-gap device -The air gap is a small device found on most washers that prevents the wash water from being siphoned into the household water supply. It's located either mid-way along or at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. Often it's made of translucent plastic. If one of the air-gap components deforms or cracks, you may need to replace it.
The tube -There's a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak.
Inlet spout -Most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free of its mounting, it can cause a leak.
During drain and spin only
A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Inspect the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Alternatively, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.
All the time
If the washer leaks all the time, check these:
Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it, as appropriate.
Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. This seal is difficult to replace. You probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician.
Pump - If the pump leaks, you can probably spot the leak when the tub is full of water. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. If the pump is leaking, you need to replace it.
Outer tub - Over time, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make.
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

WE recently purchased a front loading Frigidaire

Make sure you have removed all the shipping bolts and straps. Front loaders come with bolts that go thru the back to keep the drum from moving during shipping. If you brought the washer home yourselves you may have left in these shipping bolts. Refer to you installation manual. It will give detailed instructions on how to set up your washer. If bolts are left in place the washer will vibrate and shake excessively and cause major damage if left in for too long.

LOUD noise when in spin cycle. Appears to be in

Hi,
The loud noise is because the shock absorbers that hold the tub are broken. This allows the tub to flop al over the place.
You can get new ones easily by doing a search for"appliance parts" then enter your model number and select the part from the menu.
Check a couple of different sites as it seems that no one site always has the best price.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

The drum shakes violently and is very loud during spin cycle

There are 2 shock absorbers/springs attached to the drum. If one of them breaks it will cause a loud banging noise when you wash heavy loads. This is an easy fix. The part is about $22.00 and it is accessed throught the front bottom panel.

I get oil/grease spots on my laundry ffrom my

You probably have a bad seal on the back of the drum, as that bearing is the only source of grease near your clothes. Good luck.

How do i remove the mold in thewashing machine

The filter is actually the trap on the drain pump. If the model number you have listed is correct, the drain pump on this washer can be accessed by removing the toe panel directly below the door. Locate and remove the screws that hold the panel in place along the bottom front edge and the panel comes free. The drain pump is located in the front below the wash tub.

In order to clean out the trap area of this pump, you need to remove the large rubber inlet hose from the pump. Using a pair of pliers, you can squeeze to release the hose clamp off the inlet side of the pump and pull it free from the pump. It is common for this area to collect debris and begin to smell. Clean as necessary.

NOTE: Prior to removing the drain hose, its a good idea to remove any residual water from the drain lines and wash tub to avoid a messy clean up. A smart tip is to use a wet/dry shop vac and pull a vacuum on the drain line at the wall. This will pull everything out of the internal drain lines, pump and lower wash tub and minimize any mess.

The following link can give you some excellent tips on how to prevent mold and mildew inside a front loader:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608512-getting_rid_front_loader_mildew_odor

Another item to note, if you are using the wrong detergent, or using the improper amount of detergent, this will also contribute to odors in the washer. The improper concentration of detergent will cause soap scum build up in which dirt and debris will collect. It will also contribute to premature wear and tear on the pump motor and seals. Use HE detergent only.

If you have any questions, or if your model number is different than the one you have this question listed under, please let me know. I hope this has been helpful to you.

Final spin making very loud noise vibrates with

Hi,

Open the door and see if the basket has any up and down "play" in it. what you're doing here is checking the rear bearing assembly. There should be no "play"/movement (other than the entire tub assembly moving on the shocks/springs obviously). the rear bearing in any front load machine has practically zero tolerance. meaning it shouldn't knock when spinning, or have movement in the basket if you try to move it with an up & down motion.

If you DON'T have nay unwanted motion, make sure you are using the right detergent, that the unit is sitting level on all four feet/legs, and that the shock absorbers and springs on the tub aren't broke or seperated from the cabinet.

If you DO have unwanted motion/up & down play, you may want to consider a new washer, unless you have extended warranty or canet a could "used" one for parts.

Also check for any signs in the cabinet for pieces of concrete from the counterweight at the front.

At this point, before removing any parts/panels etc. **Unplug the unit from the wall**

You'll need to remove two screws at the bottom in the front to remove the lower panel for checking the shock's and counterwight, and remove the top to check the springs. There are two or three screws at the top in back to remove the top panel.

hope that helps,

Good Luck :)
