Go to next page.
Click VOLUME PREFERENCES.
Move slide to preference and click TEST.

My problem is that after driving for a while the volume reduces to where it can't be heard. Anyone else have this problem.

Do you need the Western European Map (1GB) for 3rd Edition or do you have the 500mb version?

1. In driving view, tap the map to enter the main menu
2. Locate the "Preferences" icon (looks like a wrench or a gear, depending on software version) and tap it.
3. Cycle through the menu pages until you see an icon with three flags (UK, German, Dutch) and tap it.
4. Select your language from the list that opens.

My Tomtom one Europe won't turn on. Yes it is charged up and I've tried to turn it on whilst charging but no joy. Anyone any ideas what the problem might be?

yes it will as long as u buy the maps for south america from Tomtom

First check the power light on unit when attaching car charger, if there is nothing some chargers have a fuse in the end of the charger, but if there is a green light there could be something wrong with either your battery or your unit

Turn on the GPS and tap on the main screen. Tap on : Navigate to.. Tap on : Point of Interest Tap on: POI near you. Tap on: Restaurant. A list of restaurants will show up. tap on the one, you would like to try. Tap on select. tap fastest route (optional) tap done. on to route screen tap done once more. Tap continue if any warning appear.

Connect it to your computer, the one with which you set the pin and use the Home application to remove the lock.

Fortunately it is fairly simple to switch it back.

try making a back up using tomtom home, also create a directory on your computer and save the contents of your tomtom there, i had this problem which turned out to be corrupt firmware/ application, which after i formated and reloaded the f/w/app from tomtom.com it worked fine....be sure to back up before you format,
then you can relaod your maps

HI. you cannot disable the safety lock. if you don't know the lock code or, you have seem to have forgotten it somehow, you will need to contact Tom Tom. they will reset the board for you free of charge. you will need your proof of purchase and the serial number on the back of your tom tom.

In some cases, you will need to send it to the manufacture for this procedure. There is not a disable feature on your Tom Tom...

Go to the Safety Preferences menu and disable it. (In the perference menu)

You cannot be moving while doing this.

On TomTom Go at least: Change preferences/change Home location/ Then select from several options. If you are at your home location then fastest is to select "my location", next easiest is to select "Address", then "Street and number"
