Hi, I assume you to mean that only the standby function on your remote does not work but all other functions are Ok.
If this is the case, then the remote most likely needs to be disassembled & the contact pads/circuit board need to be cleaned. use isopropyl alcohol for this.

Probably not. It sounds like the panel(screen) may have cracked inside. It happens all the time. Unfortunately, it will cost as much, if not more than the tv is worth to replace the panel.

It can be the T-CON board or the main board, worst case will be the LCD panel, this will involve very in-depth troubleshooting since you do not have the T-CON or main board to try out so it will not be DIY repair, you can buy a new T-CON board to rty out first since it is the cheaper than the main board. If the LCD panel is bad, then forget about fixing it. It may have to be repaired by the service center.

OK, well I have used this many many times. You simply need to copy the Movie in any of the Formats that the set can use, and copy the Movie to the USB stick. When the stick is inserted, using the remote you simply "Select" that "USB Input" and select the Movie, and select "Play", IF the right Format, has been used, the Movie will "Play" as if it was a DVD.

This is a hardware failure.These sets are more prone to power failures as compared to other models.The most common problem i have seen is bulged/ swelled / leaked caps.

If you have electronics repair experience, know schematics, could use multimeter and soldering iron and keep all precautions, i would be more than happy to assist you.I would be able to tell you few pointers that would help you to repair this.

Unfortunately, there is no reset button.It has to be repaired.

Note - I am assuming that there is ' No Picture , No Sound situation ' with 8 blinks.

Take it back where u buy it,talk to the store for a replacement,if possible.Or call Toshiba,talk to customer service,describe the problems,ask for a warranty repair.The Tuner board is is the board where the coalax broscast tv signal comming in to this board.It have faulty componnents on it.The board should be replaced.So get the tv replaced buy the store or waranty repair by Toshiba.

Start checking from the fuse, the protector, the rectifier and the smps unit. You will have to probe with an elimination flow chart to get to the fault.
Opening the set and checking within for blown discrete components will be helpful otherwise you will have to power and test the line . attempt only if familiar.

there should be 4 screws in the back of t.v unscrew them and it will lift off.
