Hello... Somewhere in the same menu as the Air/Cable setting should be an option to scan for channels. It might be called Auto-Program, or something similar. The bad news is that: "On June 12, 2009, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) mandated that all U.S. based television signals must be transmitted digitally." Since your TV was manufactured in 1992, it isn't capable of detecting or displaying digital channels. If you're really fond of the TV, you will need some sort of conversion box. If you can afford to, I'd recommend buying a new TV, and get the extended warranty. I hope this helps!

This may be a stretch, but I had a similar prollum and don't have the TV remote. I have DirecTV, and I accidently fixed the prob by pressing (and holding) the ENTER button on my DirecTV remote. It's next to the 0 (zero) on the number pad. That's all I can tell ya. If you don't have DirecTV or some other remote, dunno what would help. Jim

Chances are its a panel issue

Remove the stand first then all the screws with arrows marked on the case...it should come off then...Try removing and re connecting the LVDS cable along with the ones that go from the TCON board to the panel but use extreme caution when removing those. There is a greater chance of a bad TCON board than bad cables

Get new batteries for remote and go to web site for manual download. Or google for it.

Use the zoom feature on the remote to shrink it down.

Replace it by warranty.

Your tv may not be compatible with progressive scan mode. Change the latter.

Do a factory reset to this set, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. Try unplugging it from power for a while, 10-15 minutes, then plug it back in and try it again. If it still doesnt work then chances are the power supply inside needs repair. The most common problem with LCD tv's is failing capacitors in the power supply, they appear to have power and the standby light comes on but they just refuse to turn on.

My guess is that you will have to run a factory restore. If you have vital important data on the tablet that you cannot loose then you should be thinking about that first. To backup your data one might be to boot to linux using a usb-pen drive or DVD, Barts Boot disk is another option which may enable booting into WinXP OS to backup your important data before applying a Factory Restore.
