I think I cracked the code on this inexpensive but potentially infuriating little clock.When you first plug it in, it goes into STANDBY mode (identified by flashing ":" in the time display). In this mode, you set the time, alarms, preset radio stations, etc. Once these are set, you go into NORMAL mode by pressing the SOURCE button (in the back row). In NORMAL mode, the : in the time display is steady. In different modes, the middle row and front row buttons do different things. To return to STANDBY, you have to unplug the cord briefly and plug it back in. In STANDBY, the (front row buttons) AL-1 & AL-2 allow you to "cycle through" [buzzer-radio-off ] options for each alarm , and alter the time setting for each alarm (middle buttons). Once set, just wait and it will accept the new setting and display. In NORMAL, the front row buttons raise or lower the volume of the radio. CAUTION: if you chose the radio setting for an alarm, and set the volume to 0, it will not wake you up! The middle row buttons only do anything when the radio is playing (SOURCE in the back row), when they can be used to tune the radio up and down, or move to preset station. Note that the SOURCE button is also used to select Blutooth sync, indicated by the blinking Bluetooth light on the right side of the display. To stop this from blinking, press SOURCE until AU (for auxiliary) appears and simply wait until it returns to NORMAL display. Hope that helps.

The paperwork that come with the remote should have a list of devices and a number to enter for each. There should also be a method to press button combinations till you find a fit.

If there's a setting that will show the whole picture, it's in the Menu under Picture: 1)Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears on the TV screen. 2)Press the VOL(ume)  button so that "PICTURE" is selected. 3)Select the feature you wish to adjust with the CH(annel)  or  button and adjust it with the VOL(ume)  or  button.

You need a more advanced universal remote, that's all. I had the problem too; my first universal remote had only power, channel, volume and guide. A better remote will be bigger with more buttons and have menu options you can use.

Hello, Tom - If you choose not to purchase a universal remote control to use with your Sylvania TV, you can probably use the buttons along one side of the TV screen to adjust the color and whatever other aspects you wish to adjust. First, you will need to turn the TV on by pressing the Power or On/Off button for the TV. Then you will need to figure out what the other buttons on the side of the TV do. If you have the owner's manual refer to that. Without knowing the model number of your Sylania TV, I cannot find an owner's manual for you and give you the specific directions. If you wish, using the Edit feature, you can add the model number of your Sylvania TV so I or someone else can better help you.
