Hello,

this problem you are encountering is common with most portable DVD player's. The problem most at times is coming from the flex or screen inverter. The flex eventually worn out as a result of regular opening and closing of the player.

The screen displaying white is a symptom of bad flex or inverter.

To confirm, insert a disc into the player, press play. You should hear sound coming out of the speaker of the portable player even as it is playing.

Furthermore, connect an AV cord from the portable DVD player to your TV and you will eventually find out that it is going to display on your TV.

Having done the above, and having confirmed that the flex/inverter is that cause of the problem, please get back to me so that I may direct you further on what to do next.

Either its Laser Pickup Unit, or its strip wire connected between laser pickup unit to main board is damaged. Just replace the strip wire first. It is very common to damage this strip wire in most of the sets. If it does not help you, there is no other way than replacing the laser pickup unit; with same type and number. Insist on same type and number, since Philips uses special types. Never go for substitutions. You must have a good type of screwdriver set which contains all types of screwdrivers, including very small ones, which the watch repaires uses, becouse there are very small screws in its mechanism. OK.

Well I am not a technical person, but i imagine it should be possible to use all such products while they are charging.

The wire could be loose that connects the screen to the dvd player board, these are a common problem on alot of portable dvd players.

Try taking the battery out than plug in the charger to see if it turns on. if this works than you have a bad battery but if this doesn't not work than you have either a broken on switch, ur charger is not working, or you shot the whole thing and it needs to be replaced.

Switch off your DVD player and restart again after 30 Mins and it will be running as usual .

you could have bought Sony DVPFX 950 which is the best in portable dvd players through online order in good wesites like, Ebay or Amazon... I am planning to buy one... all the best...
