My computer doesn't play movies taken with my ls80

This camera uses quicktime. Windows Media Player should play your molvies. If not, try VLC media player. You can burn a dvd that will play on a regular dvd player. Download DVD FLICK which will convert the files into MPEG which play on a dvd player.

Software download

You need the software that came with your camera. It is on a CD or DVD. If you can't find the software, the only thing I can think of is some free software like from Ulead, Pixir, BeFunkey, Gimp, Photoshop express. Or if your camera does have a memory card, buy a external card reader and use that to transfer the pictures and videos to your computer.

Dmc ls80 transfer

Most cameras don't have enough internal memory to take more than 1 or 2 pictures internally. Picture transfer is normally accomplished via usb cord. The process begins when you plug in your usb and power on the camera. You have to navigate between internal memory and SD card in windows explorer.

Install a Panasonic Lumix to my PC

You need the software that came with your camera. It is on a CD or DVD. You have to install that before you connect the camera. Some brands offer free downloads of the software, and updates. This software only works with camera's of that brand. If you can't find the software, the only thing I can think of is some free software like from Ulead, Pixir, BeFunkey, Gimp, Photoshop elements. Or if your camera does have a memory card, buy a external card reader and use that to transfer the pictures and videos to your computer. For that you don't need the camera software.

My camara got wet with salt water and does not

You probably shorted the circuit when you tried to turn it on before letting it completely dry (could take a week). Besides, salt water will continue to damage even after drying so maybe it's time to think about another camera.

Hi, I have lost the CD that came with the camera

Do you really need the Panasonic software? The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

On most cameras, once you insert an SD card, they automatically use the card over the internal memory.

Lumix DMC-LS80, when switch on lens move forward

The non-functioning of the camera can be a fault in the shutter, zoom or auto focus sections and may be due to the failure of the Main control system or the drive. A simple was is to reset and we can try by removing the battery and card for some time. Now replace only the battery and while switching power ON, tap the lens hood on the palm of your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck. You can spray a degreasing spray on the lens hood sides and also assist the lens as it tries to come out, attempt to pull it out slowly while powering ON the camera. Also in some cases you can slid a thin film/paper on the lens hood sides to wipe out any dirt.

Tips to open and check for common faults: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2Mj3Qp3xYU&feature=related Use some air to blow between the lenses to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. Unless you are familiar with handling of small devices must you try and open. If so check the voltage on the motor drive check the auto focus and Zoom drives, it must be free with manual movement. If jammed the motor can be removed and released. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre.Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.
