Consider NOT connecting your cameras to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from a camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Open battery compartment when camera

Hi,

Remove the batteries from the camera, wait for 10 minutes, then put them back in and turn the camera on. If this does not work then try the compressed air. With a fine tip blow off the gun, and dry compressed air set the tip between the lens turret and the camera body and turn on the air while moving the tip around a the lens. It should remove all dust and sand. Turn the camera on and it should function as fine.

Secondly give a gentle tap on the sides of the camera and then switch on your camera, you will not get this error message as the internal mechanism which is stuck and causing this problem gets working properly.

If you still face the problem, then the helical threads inside the camera probably got bent to the point that it won't work anymore.

You need to get repaired.

Hope this helps.

It's very hard to troubleshoot software problems online, and it likely is a software issue. It also could be a short in you USB cable (do you have another cable that you can try?). But you really can avoid the headaches of troubleshooting. Please see this article, as it describes the use of a portable USB card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos.

I took a short video

I have the same camera and love it, although there are a few glitches. I have had problems with sound recording when 1.) my memory card was not capable of holding that much data, or 2.) I forgot to go to the 'Setup" menu when I had the camera in the video mode. If the camera sounds selection is in the 'off'' mode, you will not have sounds recorded. If neither of these issues is the culprit, then you MAY have sound on the memory, and just don't have it loud enough to hear easily. Sometimes this can be fixed by running the video through a sound editor, AFTER BACKING IT UP somewhere else! Remember, all data is only as good as your storage habits. Congratulations on the marriage, I am getting married in May!

Hello,

Please un-install the driver software from your PC , then reinstall the driver or by connecting the camera to the PC to be detected as a new hardware and subsequently installed. If this is not the case then it is for sure that the cameras is not detected.
If so we need to confirm the status of the camera and so it is important to connect the camera to another PC which is perhaps an ideal PC with a good anti-virus. If this works then you need to get your PC checked for problems in the OS , have it reinstalled with the use a good anti virus.
If not the camera has errors in the processor / memory interface and needs a check up at the Kodak center. Confirm and estimate so as to help you decide.

I can't find out how

If you don't have the cable to hook up to the computer, you will need an appropriate card reader for the type of memory that goes in the camera. You can then hook that up to your computer instead, however most cameras use the common 5-pin or mini-usb cable connection. Which you can find at most electronic stores.

My camera is saying the internal memory is full,

go to the play picture mode and look for the menu button, you should be able to scroll through seveeral options. you may also be able to delete each picture as you view it,but that would take a long time depending on how many pics you have. the internal memory on these cameras is not that large. there is an option to delete all at once but you will have to wade through the menuu to find it.

I've done this many times,but

Ensure you have the software installed for your camera. This is available here: http://download.kodak.com/digital/software/easyShare/v8_3_0/install_easyshare.exe

Next, plug in the camera and open the "My Computer" icon/directory. The camera should now be listed there and you will be able to access it by double clicking, which will take you to the photos.
