Excessive steam when brewing krupps km7000
NOT THE SAME problem as listed!!
I'm now experiencing what the original poster is experiencing, I've fixed the thermal fuse problem twice so far over the last two years. The thermal fuse allow the water flowing through the tube under the plate to heat witch forces it up to the brewing lid, if the fuses blow = no heat= no steam.. we are experiencing EXCESSIVE steam and verrrry slow brewing. Mine takes over an hour to brew half a pot and I have to fill the reservoir twice to get 2\3 of a pot.
It's all going to steam,, suggesting, to me, the temp is getting WAY TO HIGH.
Am I right? does anyone have any more info or clarrification.. and what part might fix this.
how is the temp getting too high.. is there a temperature "SWITCH" somewhere?

Krups KM7000 grinds but won't brew, warming plate
Mine had the same problem ... all the lights are on, but no heating on the plate, and no dripping of water.
After a weekend on the workbench, I've mastered this machine. The KM7000 has 2 x MicroTemp G4 thermal cutoff (TCO) fuses which interrupt the Live line, for overheat protection. Mine didn't overheat per se, but the TCO blew anyway. Not reset-able ... need to be replaced with a soldering iron. I'll be happy to advise you to fix this, or fix it for you. Unfortunately, it seems that China is the only one manufacturing the thermal fuses and they are notoriously inaccurate, tough to find as replacement parts and most often they are spot-welded to the heating element's leads, something most owners can't accomplish.Soldering them isn't wise since they are located close enough to the heating element to cause solder to flow.
There is a type of barrier connector common in Europe, hard to find elsewhere, that uses screws to hold the wires to be brought together; one hole that goes through a metal channel and has screws mounted at 90 degrees so that each of the wires are held by one screw.I have replaced the thermal fuses this way with some ancient US made stock (once had reason to keep these on hand) that is rated for lower temperatures and therefore must be mounted slightly farther away from the heating element. I wouldn't do this to someone else's coffee maker since I cannot guarantee the effectiveness of the thermal fuses installed.
Do NOT decide to just jump the blown thermal fuse with a piece of copper wire. I know of one case this was done and the machine failed to shut down on time and a Formica counter was set ablaze.
Some cases of circuit breakers tripping may be those which combine a GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) into the breaker and will trip if even a minor ground current is sensed and this can occur from moisture trapped inside the machine.This type is commonly found in newer homes on circuits located close to any exposed plumbing to prevent death by electrocution.

Grinds but won't brew
If your plate is not heating, no water will flow. This seems to be a common problem with this rig. So far, I've helped 13 people on this site with exactly the same problem ... all the lights are on, but no heat on the plate and no dripping water.
