If it is the red light flashing and the water button light that is ON. That means air in the system. If the flow of water is not steady, make sure water tank is fully push in. The next thing you can check is the test mode which is not given in the manual. Hold down water button and switch on the machine, you will see the lights turning on alternately in anti clockwise direction. Release the button.Turn the dial to the right and press the coffee button, water pump will work.Turn on the steam/water knob and keep pressing the coffee button until all the air is purge out. Dial on other positions will test other components of the machine, such as grinder, solenoid valve, brew group, etc.

try and hold down the steamer button for 10 seconds, that should reset the descale warning lamp.

First you should adjust the level to place the cup on, once you did it, there is a pommel in the center of the machine, that regulates the lenght of your coffee (small cup icon is ristretto/small quantity on the left and big cup icon is lungo/big quantity) you just have to turn the pommel on the lenght desired.

Saeco's automatic coffee machines instantly grind the beans automatically. The brew group of this machine only takes a simple gesture for it to be quickly and easily removed from the machine and cleaned. Just rinse it under running water, without using chemical additives, to remove all dirt and coffee residues, So You need to clean all brew group and grinder. Descale the machine. Check the grinder has set properly in the machine. If it doesn't help you then you may have to replace the brewer or grinder.

It seems it is partially obstructed by backflowing dried milk protein. Use appropriate cleaning fluid

There are 2 things that might be going on;
1 - The brew unit screen is blocked.
2 - The grind you are using is too fine, try adjusting to something a little coarser.

Make sure the holes in the sleeve is clean out.

Sounds to me like the grind is a little too fine. Try adjusting 1 or 2 numbers towards coarse.

Take the unit out and press PUSH Watch what that does to the backside. Help to lift the handle you see moving in the upright position Now the unit will fit again; do not press PUSH when you put the unit back See this picture for lever

does the black mark only appear on phone while taking photos?

Make sure the brew group is in
rest position; the two references
must match.(look at the marks/arrows on the side of the brew group)

Make sure the components are in
the correct position.
The hook shown must be in the
correct position; to check its
position, firmly press the "PUSH"
button.

you are supposed to go through the "before first use" instructions....which include filling the resevoir with water and brewing only water until its all gone. then start using the machine normally...remembering that the machine takes a few brew cycles to adjust properly to the coffee being used (this assuming this is the giro plus model which has the feature-"aroma something or other...)

also, descaling would help and removing the brew group and rinsing it out...

The problem is in the bar that connects the motor with the plastic gear is stuck with dirt or coffee particles.

Open the rear part in which the brew group is assembled.be careful with a sensor connection that is located in the right lower part.

Take out the gears and clean it thoroughly but carefully and everything should work again.

You should get a professional to do the work for you but if you want to do it your self then please note that;

The sensor cable is very short, so you might need more cable and extend it

There's only one position for the black gear so be very careful with that, otherwise you won't be able to assemble everything back again.
