Both upper light and lower light are flashing back

One of my good friends had the same problem, so I took the machine.
After reading a bit and after making the tests procedures (turning on the machine with the water button pressed, and try the different parts) I realized that it was "time for surgery" :P.
After inspecting the brew group I realized that the problem wasn't there, so I ( brief version :) )
- Opened the rear part in which the brew group is assembled. b7a2f43.jpg

Opening that part is not difficult, just keep an eye in a sensor connection that is located in the right lower part. (I'm trying to attach some pics)
- After testing some things manually, I came into account that the problem was in the bar that connects the motor with the plastic gray gear, it was stuck and quite dirty.

- I took the gears out, cleaned a little bit (by the way I think that the design is not very robust) and bingo everything was working again.

If you decide to open your machine as essential points I suggest you to consider:
1.- The cable of the sensor (lower right) is very short, so i bought more cable and extended it. It was impossible for me to assemble everything back again with a cable that long.

2.- There's only one position for the black gear (which is not symetrical) so be very careful with that, otherwise you won't be able to assemble everything back again.

3.- Be careful with the sensors that surrounds the black gear, and don't forget to put the little pipe.

I'll try to attach some pics, the process is not difficult if you work carefully, and considering the money that the official guys where charging my friend for servicing the machine, it's quite convenient :)

Our Odea Giro Plus grinds

Sounds like the screen on the brew unit is blocked or the grind is too fine.

I need to prime the water circuit. How do I do this?

Hi. Turn your machine on and open the steam/hot water function as the machine starts to heat. This will allow the air to be released from the water circuit, and water to fill the circuit. You may have to wait for the machine to heat before it will allow you to operate the steam/hot water function, but this is how you do it. Just keep doing this proceedure until water starts to come out of the outlet. The pump will sound noisey at the start, but will quiten down once the water has filled it. Hope thishas helped. Enjoy your coffee. Dazza Repairer

The brew group is stuck and won't come out. What to do?

Hi. Its not an easy fix. The brewunit is stuck in cycle, with the injector pipe holding it in. The injector pipe is at the back behind the brewunit. You just need to use force by wriggling and jiggling the brewunit. There maybe some screws in the brewunit, that may help you if you undo them. If you do get the unit out, then you have to work out WHY it has not completed the cycle, so when you put the unit back in, that is not going to get stuck again. Ive spent 30 mins getting out a unit, only for it to get stuck again. For some reason, its easier to get the brewunit back out the second, or third time you try it.Sometimes you may have to break something to get it out. Id recomend taking it to a repairer and let them work it out. It can take hours of work and care must be taken, not to do too much damage. Even disassembly and reassembly or the outer panels canbe a challenge on these models. Saeco are a good machine, but are a dumb design when ti comes to stuck brew units. Sorry I cant be more help with this problem, but I hope its just a soiled brewunit, and once you've removed and cleaned it, It'll work fine again. Weekly cleaning tablet should stop it from happening again. Dazza

The alarm light is flashing

Hi

The problem is probably with the flow meter which is a turbine unit that is installed before the pump. Either there is a blockage or the unit is bad. Have to open the machine to get into it. Remove the brew unit and clean the screen on the unit, then insert unit, and open steam/hot water valve to prime. If that does not work then there might be malfunctions with the pump. Also take out everything water tank, dreg draw and brewing unit and have the door opened to the brewing area. Leave it for about 1 minute and then put it back together again. If this doesn't help, please check if the machine responds to removing the dreg draw, beanlid. If they respond make sure that the water tank is filled to maximum. If it don't then the water tank sensor is faulty.

Please get back to us if you have further query or else please accept this "particular" solution.

Hi...Keep on grinding until the Auto Dosing System readjust the amount of grind to be in the optimum. Normally it takes 3 to 4 grinds. Whenever we change the type of beans, this condition happens, it is not a problem.
