Saeco Odea Giro Plus Coffee Maker - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Water is being bypassed by the machine straight inti the overflow tray
It is not the grind of the coffee (and, I didn't think you were using pre-ground). Mirko may be right, but there may be a much simpler solution. I have a followup question: is it taking a very long time brewing. That is, does the flow go very slow AND most of the water is going off to the drip tray? If so, it may be as simple as the brew-group being clogged. I've had this problem when I have not taken it out and cleaned it often enough. Every few days, if not every day, you have to take it out of the machine and rinse it thoroughly. It's probably coffee clogging the metal sieve on the top portion of the brew-group. That's where the brewed coffee exits the group (water flows in from underneath).
The other possibility is the set of gaskets on the white nozzle behind the brew group. You can buy replacements for those. If the machine is more than a few years old, that could be it. I can tell you how to replace them if you want to do it. It's not too hard. But, you do need a specific torx-head screwdriver and it requires some disassembly to change them out.

Flashing red exclamation mark
There are several different warnings involving the red exclamation mark. One that comes up some times is back-pressure in the system. If you are unable to get it to do anything, try pushing the hot-water button and turning the steam knob to the open position. If that's your problem, you should get some water coming out rapidly followed the pump coming on briefly. Turn the knob to "off" and the machine should be fine.
This is the most likely problem. IF it doesn't help, let me know. There are others I might be able to help with.
