The issue you are describing with your Saeco Exprelia Evo coffee machine, where it displays a "heating up" message and then restarts without any error message, could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few things you can check:
Check the water tank: Make sure that the water tank is properly filled and that there are no blockages in the water supply line. If the water tank is empty or there is a blockage in the water supply line, the machine will not be able to heat up properly and will display a "refill water" message.
Check the brew group: Make sure that the brew group is properly seated and that there is no debris or blockages preventing the flow of water through the brew group. If the brew group is not properly seated or there is a blockage, the machine will not be able to heat up properly.
Check the heating element: Make sure that the heating element is functioning properly. If the heating element is not functioning properly, the machine will not be able to heat up.
Check the thermostat: Make sure that the thermostat is functioning properly. If the thermostat is not functioning properly, the machine will not be able to heat up properly.
Check the boiler pressure switch: Make sure that the boiler pressure switch is functioning properly. If the boiler pressure switch is not functioning properly, the machine will not be able to heat up.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or may recommend a qualified technician to repair the machine.
It's worth noting that these type of issues are usually caused by a malfunctioning component, and that attempting to fix it without proper knowledge could cause more damage and might void the warranty.
It sounds like there may be a problem with the coffee grounds drawer sensor. You might try cleaning the sensor and making sure it is properly aligned. If that doesn't fix the issue, it's possible that the sensor itself is damaged and will need to be replaced. If you are not familiar with troubleshooting and repairing electronic devices, it may be best to seek the help of a professional repair technician.
Hi,
since you've replaced parts and performed factory reset, then I would suggest taking the device in for repair through Home Depot or Geeksquad/best buy or replacing with a new Espresso machine.
Thank you.
Hi,
Please double check that you're using a good water filter to lower the need to descale. Also, please make sure that you're refilling with cold water and not hot. And also double check that each espresso you make is being poured into the recommended size container by the manufacturer otherwise you would run into this problem based on the small size of the water tank (ie 40 oz).
Thank you.
First, I'm NOT a Saeco technician, But I have worked on similar machines.
*** You should contact your service vendor. Especially if it's still under warranty. The following is for information only.***
* The spout dispencing only on one side can be caused by an uneven table/counter. A clogged spout. and a crooked spout (got banged out of alighnment)
* Water in the dregs. Check if the pucks are watery or there is just water at the bottom of the tray?
* Watery pucks are from low coffee dose or low compression.
* Water in the tray is the overflow from one of the water systems.
* There are really no customer serviceable parts in this machine. Though there are a lot of adventurous people out there that like to tinker with this machine.
* again, call for service.

P.S. check you tube for your model and brand. many sites with D.I.Y. cleaning and servicing of this machine.
It could of had broke your coffee maker when it was taken apart.
Unplug your coffee maker and then make sure that the coffee and filter are taken out before turning it over and then remove the base to have the heating element and thermostat being exposed and test the thermostat's continuity and If the thermostat broken have it be replaced. It could be clogged or there could be a water clogged and check the coffee tube too.
1- The grind fineness setting is too fine. Pump is not able to pump through the compacted coffee grounds.
2- The machine is not descaled. The Calcium deposits in the hydraulic system have reduced the pump pressure. The partially clogged water passages can generate a back pressure to reduce pumping pressure. Was the machine descaled in the past two or three moths? If yes, what was the descaling product used?
3- The pump may be air locked and not able to pump water.
4- Oily beans may have been used. Oily beans are poison for the all fully automatic espresso machines. This clogs the grinding chamber or the grinder outlet. This model is made in Romania made in 2006 or after. This machine has a Ceramic Burr grinder 2006 which is a huge problem to clean adjust beans quantity per shot of espresso etc. etc. Occasionally it will dump dry coffee grounds when the quantity of beans powder is insufficient.

Page 7 of the manual refers. The grind change will only work if you change it with the machine running and will take a while for the grind change to appear in the dispensed coffee. The quantity of ground coffee can be adjusted, and so can the amount of water mixed with the coffee and dispensed to the cup.
