I have a Bunn CWTF TWIN coffee machine.....the one side will not stop pouring water out of it....was wondering if there is a replacement part or parts to fix the problem

The water inlet valve may be stuck open from mineral deposits. You can get rebuild kits for the older ones or just replace the valve?

What are the instructions for preheat after turning our bunn coffee maker off over night - there is not off switch, plug in only

* Bunn model # for specific solutions. * Most Pro/Office models have a pre-heated tank. * Most models (Without Vacation or heater switch) will be heated all the time. * Care must be taken to keep the inner tank filled. * Pour cold water into fill tray till water comes out of the brew basket. * Water will stop coming out of brewer once the tank has been topped off. * If pot is not able to brew after 20 mins of pre-heating. Then call for service. * Note; most office and Pro machines used in food establishments are from coffee vendors. The larger machines should be serviced by qualified Bunn service techs. * Contact your coffee vendor or Bunn service ctr for advice. Aloha, ukeboy57

I have a Bunn dual satellite brewer, model 20900.6007, 120/208, and i'd like to use it in a trailer with 120/240, is this something that has been done by someone on here already?

Bunn, DUAL brewers are large volume (1-1/2 gal per thermal Dispencer.) In most commercial VAN operations there is a requirement to cook and assemble food in a sanitary food approved kitchen or process plant. Brewing would be done at the kitchen. To use this type of brewer would be to get enough 1-1/2 gal servers to cover your needs for the event. Brew everything you need in the morning and just take the servers to the event. I remember waking up at 4 AM to brew 25 servers for big events. We even did a mid morning run with another 15 servers. You can also install low wattage warmers designed for the servers. I suggest two warmers to keep regular and de-cafe hot. The rest can be set aside. Some servers will stay hot enough for up to 4 hours. * Installing the brewer in the van has problems with keeping the water level. You will need a "Boat kit" to allow for sloshing water. You also need a pressurized water tap. Power is rated at 220-240 30 amps. (40 amps if your at 200VAC) * Check with your local coffee vendor for advice. Aloha, ukeboy57

Hi I lost my spray head for my Bunn coffee maker - is there a hack to still be able to make coffee while I wait for the new part?

Depends on your model. The smaller pour over units are easy as you prep your funnel with coffee as normal and get a full pot of hot water (just brew the water through the brew head and funnel to fill the pot.) If you have another pot or carafe, air pump pot. Then hold the coffee filled funnel (with coffee filter) over the empty pot and slowly pour the hot water over the coffee grounds. Go slow as you don't want to burn your other hand nor get grounds into the pot if you over fill the filter. * If this is a 1-1/2 gallon brewer then the missing shower head won't mater that much as most of the 'flavor' is extracted in the first 1/2 gallon with the rest just filling the urn. If you do find the coffee to be weak then perform 3 separate 1/2 gallon brews to allow the grounds to fully soak and extract. Again, you can still do it manually as described above but it does get messy and very slow. (I've done this just to get something out to the customer. Well until I could get the repaired brewer up and running.) * Most of the Bunn decanter brewers use a quarter size screw on spray head. No real substitute, though you could try a stiff sheet of aluminum foil to cover the coffee grounds in the funnel and poke holes into it. Though more than likely one of the waiters will dump it on the next brew. * On one occasion (during lunch rush) I had to wait on a repaired urn to heat up but the waiter's needed coffee now! I took a pour over small brewer and made a pot with 1/2 gallon strength coffee and poured it into a larger urn then brewed more 'partial' batches till it was full. Hey, got to do what needed to get it out. * You should always check with your coffee vendor as spray heads are very common parts and available at your local restaurant supply. There are other brands that use the same parts too like bloomfield. Ask around as this is a fairly cheap part. Aloha, ukeboy57

My Bunn CWTF15 coffee maker will not brew a pot when the brew button is pushed. The unit will dispense hot water from the spigot Is the a potential blockage or is it more complex

You should call your vendor for service on any commercial brewer. (Especially if it's on loan from them) *** the following is for information only as all repairs should be performed by a qualified tech.*** The CWTF has a start switch activates the timer (analog or digital) board which turns on the water feed to the brew tank. This forces previously heated water out and sprayed over the ground coffee in the brew funnel. Coffee then drips into the decanter. * It's not often this momentary brew switch goes bad even though it's pressed many times a day. * Check the on/off switch. Most models will light up when switched on. * Check the timer. Digital timers tend to be sensitive to electrical storms. Analog timers have a dial and are more tolerant of electrical surges. * Check the water fill solenoid. Should be a definite click when activated. Water filling sound should be very clear. * No water flow then check the water supply line if it's on. * Final; this brewer needs service. Call your coffee vendor for advice. Aloha, ukboy57

I just bought the Bunn VLPF series, double burner. My other Bunn coffee pot had the option of make a half pot of coffee but this one does not Is there a tip to follow for half a pot?

Sorry this brewer is usually set up for a full pot brew. I have reset this for a small (but not half) pot brew as the customer wanted to use a metal carafe (with their own logo). I also tried once to get it to half pot brew but it can get tricky if you actually brew twice to get a full pot (in the same pot). * there is a siphon action that starts once the boiler tank gets filled to a certain point. From that point it will continue to flow until the boiler is emptied to the level that stops the siphon action and leaves enough water in boiler to reheat for the next brew. Achieving the siphon point may be a larger volume of water for 1/2 a pot but may work for 3/4ths a pot. The 1/2 way mark may be affected by the brewers "level" while placed on a table or sagging in the middle of a weak table. * Usually if you want a smaller brew then go with a smaller brewer. Though there is a hot water tap that will give you 2-4 cups of hot water (it gets tepid after that) which you can use for the "Mug" style brew. But it does get messy.ukeboy57 * Final, If you don't mind a little more than 1/2 pot brews then ask your vendor to adjust the machine for you. Though a reminder NOT the double brew in the same pot as it will overflow. Aloha, ukeboy57

My bunn coffeemaker NHS-B trip the GFI. Where do I find the code date on my brewer?

The NHS-B has a semi-sealed tank that keeps +1 pot of water heated and ready to brew. Pouring in a full pot of cold water will fill the top tray and allow a slow trickle of cold water into the top which forces hot water to over flow into the brew basket. This continues until all the cold water drains into the heater tank. So the brew is matched volume per volume. UNLESS the thank was empty or not filled prior to brewing. Follow the brewing instructions from Bunn (on line for *FREE* download at Bunn.com) * If it leaks (from the bottom) only when you pour in water. Then your pouring it too fast and over flowing the fill tray. slowdown, watch the level in the tray. do not fill past the lid. * If it leaks just sitting (not brewing) then there is a hole in the tank. Call for service. * If it leaks after filling the tray half way. then the top of the tank has a leak, loose, cracked, or missing gasket. There is quite a few gaskets on the lid. Call for service. * Final; Leaks are always bad around electrical equip. Best to unplug and call for service to be safe. Aloha, ukeboy57 P.S. If you did splash too much water then wipe up as much as you can. Leave it out on a towel or paper towels to allow the excess moisture to evaporate. If you dump all the water out of the brewer (and tank) then you will need to pre-fill it with a pot of water PRIOR to plugging in the brewer. Follow the set up instructions in the manual. Let it heat up and try again. If it's still leaking then there is a hole in the tank. Call for service.

We have a Bunn Dual commercial unit tapped directly into the city water. When filling for the first time in the mornings the machine makes a LOUD knocking noise. This does not occur after the first s

Sounds like water hammer. There is a small (very small) water hammer minimizer built in the Single and Dual brewers. If your looking at the water valve there is a small 1/4" copper tee with one end sticking upward. This usually has air trapped inside and tries to soften the water pressure as the valve open and closes. There are larger ones mounted in the bigger urns like the U-3 brewers. Though it's easier to have the plumber install a larger one at the mains to take care of the whole restaurant. * It is possible to replace the copper water line (to the brewer) with a reinforced flex hose that will take up the initial pressure of water hammer but if you are running high water pressure then there is a danger of the hose bursting. Might be better to go with an armored hose (those used under sinks) * There is one more thing is the water probe is getting too sensitive. Have the tech replace the water level board. He will want to do this as the constant clicking of the water valve will cause it to fail (like in a month or less) * High pressure can cause sloshing in the tank. This creates waves in the tank but normally the water level board will ignore this splashing on the probe. Have the tech check and clean the probe anyway. It may be possible to reduce the flow rate to the brewer (thus the water hammer pressure) by adjusting the valve that supplies the brewer. Be sure to have the Tech label the valve as someone is sure to come along and open it wide again.. Aloha, ukeboy57 PS; double check if the valve is rated for your water source. Hot water supply requires a different valve (it's bigger too.). Most come with the standard cold water supply rated valve. ukeboy57

Month Old Bunn smells hot

Bunn machine smells hot * Check for unusual sounds from brewer (other than sizzling from warmer plates). There should be a gradual boiling sound accompanied by some steaming at the top of brewer. This will turn off and ready light indicating the brewer is ready to brew. * You may sometimes hear a slight boiling sound from time to time (about 15-30 mins apart). Notify your vendor as the warmer blanket may be out. (your brewer will still work but call them anyway.) * Check your manual for setting up procedures and checks. It's available on line: http://www.bunn.com/product-manuals * Constant boiling (more than 15 mins) with lots of steaming is a sign of an electrical problem. Unplug machine and call vendor for service. * Final; Unplug unit and check for 'stuff' in pour over tray. I've found Chocolate, Cream, Milk, powder, sugar, honey, and a dead rat in the tray. Crew will repour old coffee or beverages into brewer to 're-heat' them. Notify vendor for cleaning or replacement (it happens all the time.) Aloha, ukeboy57

Our Bunn VRP SERIES MAKES NOISE WHEN WATER IN THE TANK SITS AWILE

There are two heaters in a VRP unit (Pour over style) The brewer has a tank that your last office person poured in a full pot of water. The main heater senses the colder water and begins to reheat the water to near boiling. The new water pushes out the same amount of water into the brewing basket (funnel with coffee). Once the new water has come up to temperature then the main heater turns off. There is a warming blanket around the inside tank. This keeps the water hot and ready to brew. It uses less power than the main heater. If this blanket fails then the water will cool down to a point where the main heater heats everything back up. You may not notice this as the only indication is luke warm coffee on a freshly made pot or a 'boiling' noise every 15 - 25 mins. This VRP probably needs servicing (check Thermal blanket and Thermal fuse)
