Frigidaire FGF378AC Gas Kitchen Range - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Frigidaire gas range makes loud whirring sound when oven is set above 250
You don't give a lot of info here (like if the range was converted from natural to LP, or if the burners are OK, or if it is a self clean model and how the broil works, etc) and I can't guess all that, especially because a lot of people post under whatever model pops up when they enter a key word while posting a problem, but,..........
Any range that was professionally installed should have been tested for proper burner and oven operation by the installer before they left. Call the installer back and let them know you are not satisfied.
Gas range
I have a frigeidaire classic gas range 12 years old worked fine until a pot of water leaked over the stove top burners. now the door locked lite is on and the door lock is activated , the oven door is open and won't close. The oven also does not work now, although the stove top burners work fine.
Can you help ? Thanks, Tom
Frigidaire FGF337ECC - electric issue
SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY HAVE SHORTED SOMETHIN ON THE CLOCK IF YOU HAVE SWITCHED OUTLETS (AND KNOW FOR SURE THAT OUTLET HAS POWER). IT MAY BE POSSIBLE YOU BLEW A BRAKER AND THE OTHER OUTLET IS IN THE AME LINE.
Oven Knob all of sudden shuts oven off at 300 degree mark not "off"
The inside part that locks the shaft to the controls is loose.
it can be fixed. but will take some ingenuity.
you will have to take the control completely apart to get to the loose area, walmart has some plastic glue that comes in a 2part tube for 4.00 that can repair most plastics and provide fill a the same time.
or just order another control if you can find a place that has it.
FOIL
You will have to heat it to get the sticky to release.
put a hot skillet on top of it or use a hand torch..
Loud clicking sound does not stop
The igniter circuit is stuck the circuit that controls this is shorted out and you cannot likely fix this. The controlling scr transistor is bad. its on the main board. It happens
Oven won't start
If you look at the oven igniter in the bottom portion of the range, (where the gas controls are) look to see if the igniter is glowing hot. If not, replace your igniter. This is the part that starts the burner and keep it lit. When you get a new igniter DO NOT TOUCH THE ELEMENT PORTION of the igniter. Or it will pre-maturly fail. Good luck.Hope this helped ya!
30" frigidaire gas range
If you can not open the top part without any difficulty it is probably not suppose to. On some models especially the ones with sealed burners, are not to be opened by just liftting the top. Hence the "sealed" type. If you force it to open you are going to damage the unit and void any warranty. Go to the manufactureres website and down load any manual you need. Be sure to have your model number off the range handy. Good luck.
Frigidaire FGF378AC Gas Stove
There are 2 possibilities:
1) Are there 2 knobs to control the oven? If so, they may be switched.
2) Depending on the thermostat used, it may be possible to put the knob on upside down.
FRIGIDAIRE GAS RANGE FGF378WCC
sl, because it't happening to both broil and bake the first thing I would suspect is the temperature probe. You should ohm it out. You can do this either at the board or at the harness connection in back. For the board, remove the back panel, there should be a 8 pin connector to the left of 3 relays. On the harness measure the resistance of the wires going to pins 1 and 2. On the shemantic it shows them being the 2 on the bottom. Should read around 1100 ohms at room temp. If you cant get a good reading on it there, Remove the probe from the inside oven, remove the screws and pull it out until the harness connector comes through, disconnect it and ohm it out from there. I don't think that both ignitors would fail at the same time so Im leaning toward the probe. Catriver.

Stove smoke and fumes
Bebbie,
You didn't say exactly what it smells like but I assume it is not the
smell of gas. This sounds like spillage of food into an area of the
stove and the subsequent heating of it. Depending on which burner (or
the oven) is involved, you're going to have to chase this down and
clean it. Since there is minimal chance that this is electrical in
nature, your other concern is a partially plugged burner caused by the
mess.
Some notes: Be sure that any flame you do see has a predominantly blue
appearance. If it is predominantly yellow, there is dirt which is
restricting the air supply. This can cause carbon monoxide which is
deadly.
Displays controls not working
MK, this sounds like you missed something on the connection of the new part. I'm going to assume that the reason you changed the control pad was that there was something else wrong. If you've got the same problem...the pad wasn't it. Some of these guys check for connections all the way through to the controlled elements. Look for broken wires and check for connections that may have worked loose. If you're working on wires...remember to unplug first!
If the problem is unique, was the part new or used? It may be defective if used. New parts are generally not at issue. Again, check all connections.
How do I turn the volume down or turn off the beep from my Frigidaire Gallery 5.0 cu. ft. Gas Range when the oven reaches its intended temperature?
As copied from the manual.
Setting a silent control panel
When choosing a function, a beep will be heard each time a pad is pressed. If desired, the control can be programmed for silent operation. Press and hold (start/time) . After 7 seconds, the control will beep once. This will block the controls from sounding when a pad is pressed. To return the sound, press and hold (start/time) again for 7 seconds until the control beeps once
NOTE!
The OVEN indicator light on the electronic display will turn ON and OFF when using the Bake feature and during preheat. This is normal and indicates that the oven is cycling to maintain the selected baking temperature. When the preheat indicator light turns OFF, your oven is ready.
