How to format mp3 player

Yes, I had the same issue with mine too. Actually, the disk is write protected. You must unwrite protect it first. The instructions on how to un write protect it are on this site. (note: some may not be useful, it didn't work for mine...) http://www.fixya.com/support/t248942-remove_write_protect_usb_flash_drive

Can an 8GB microSDHC card be used in my Sansa Fuze 4GB mp3 player

Actually, it sounds as if the card is working. The more you have on the card, the more free internal memory you'll need so it can build its media database. Remove the card, then delete some files from the internal memory to free up space. Then reinsert the card.

Try to shut down your system. Restart and go into either settings, or language, it should be simple enough. However it may take some looking to find depending on which MP3 you have. It ususally however is in the language setting.

How to get ear buds for SanDisk Sansa Express

You'll probably need to buy them from an online store. The Sansa Express is a discontinued player, so SanDisk doesn't make accessories for it anymore, but if you go to Google and do a search for "Sansa Express" and earbuds, you'll see stores that still carry them.

I recommend, though, that you just go to your local electronics store and buy a pair of earbuds. Not only will it probably be cheaper because you don't have to pay for shipping, but you can return them if they don't work out for you.

Does this answer your question?

SanDisk Sansa Express 1 Gb Black, power problems

hi!
you have a virus problem, but first ensure that you charge it properly then try putting it on again. if it doesn't work still, you would have to format it.That is wiping out everything you have on the player.. thats the best option to avoid causing more damage to both the player and your computer...

GOODLUCK!!

Sandisk Express will not turn on.

Ensure that the player has been charged.

Try to power reset the device by simultaneously pressing and holding the center and volume up button, while connecting it to the PC.

If power reset fails, charge the device for at least two and a half hours. The computer should not be in sleep or hibernation state while charging.

Make sure to update firmware by downloading and installing the Sansa Firmware Updater.

It's possible that there is some physical damage to your player, but first try to do a reset: Press and hold the Volume Up (+) and Select buttons simultaneously for approximately 20 seconds.

My Sansa Express MP3 player does not show up on my

Normally your Sansa Express would show up as "Sansa Express", which would indicate that it is in MTP mode. The Sansa Express doesn't supply a menu option to switch to MSC mode, which would cause it to show up as a "removable disk". Apparently your Sansa Express has somehow switched to MSC mode. MSC mode is necessary for upgrading firmware, in which case it's called "recovery mode", and it's possible that some combination of key presses (usually involving holding down the power/hold button) put it into this mode.

If you double-click on "removable disk (K:)", do you see a Music folder? If so, is there anything in the Music folder?

My device will not start. I can't use it.

Hi there

I can understand your issue..

Well when you say that the device is not start then it could be an issue with the corrupted file. I'd kindly suggest you to format the device.

In order to format the device i want you to keep the device mode in to MTP and connect it to the computer.

Open Windows Media Player (WMP 10) and you can see the device in the right hand side.

Highlight the device and up above that you could see an icon that look like pencil.

Click on that, it will format the device.

Then try to turn on the sansa it should work
NOTE : If you format the device the data will be wiped off.

Please revert if any clarification or still the issue persists..

A service section installation INF is invalid.

Just to be clear, no special drives are necessary. MSC mode will work out of the box with just about any OS. MTP mode will work as long as you have WMP 10 or 11 installedFirstly, lets explain MSC mode and MTP mode a bit.

MSC stands for Mass Storage Class. When your player is in this mode, the computer will see it the same way it would see a flash drive, as a removable disk. It will assign it the first available drive letter, as well as one for the memory card (if applicable). This is probably the more popular of the 2 modes, and is a more "open source" type of standard. Most comptuers detect the player in this mode without a problem.

MTP stands for Media Transfer Protocol. It is a Microsoft standard and is Microsofts solution to connecting digital players and cameras to a window based platform. MTP mode must be used in order to transfer ANY Digital Rights Managment (DRM) protected content. Services like Rhapsody and Napster will only function in this MTP mode.

SanDisk has provided both of these modes at the users options on MOST of the entire Sansa Line mp3 players. The c200, and The View, do not have these 2 options in every version of firmware. Instead those players use an "Auto Detect" function that is suppose to Automaticly use MTP mode. If MTP mode does not work for any reason, it should default to MSC mode.

Switching between MSC and MTP modes

  • Turn the Sansa on, if it is not already
  • Navigate to the main menu of the player; this is the same menu that gives us options such as Play, Record, Info, etc...
  • Navigate to "Settings" on the main menu of the player.
  • After navigating to "Settings", we should see an option that states "USB" or "USB MODE"
  • From here we can select MSC or MTP modes (could vary based on player model)
  • Highlight the desired mode and select it, at this point it will roll back to the 'Settings' menu
  • Connect the player to the computer and verify it is connecting in the desired mode.
It should be noted, when a device is in MSC mode, it will appear as a "Removable disk". When connected in MTP mode, it will show up as an "Audio Device"
You can also try to reinstall Windows Media Player 10 or 11. Next W*ndows has a update to fix if all else fails try this. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A2E73160-E862-4F19-BB26-C0CAFE798955&displaylang=en

My sansa express dosnt know it has a micro sd card

Early versions of the Sansa express will not support High Density microSDHD cards whcih are usually found in Cards greater than 2GB and definetely on cards greater than 4GB.
In Flash drive mode, make sure that the microSD card can be seen on your PC as a second drive for your Player. To ensure better compatibilty, I would suggest that the microSD card be FORMATted while inserted in your Player.
I would initially only put a couple of songs on your microSD card to test that the card is compatible.
