WILL NOT TURN ON

Possible solution.  So, my sansa express went dead after pluggin it in to my computer after a few weeks of use.  It was totally dead and unresponsive.  Didn't turn on at all.  Plugging it in wouldn't effect it and windows only recognized a malfunctioning usb adapter.  Thus, reprogramming the firmware was out of the question.
Solution: the soft reset actually worked.  You have to soft reset (hold down the grey center button and the volume up + key at the same time for a few seconds.)  Then plug it into the computer.  Voi La.  It came back to life.  The strange part was that it still wouldn't turn on after the soft reset.  It required me plugging it into my computer to revive the thing.

My sansa express 1gb does not working

First, try a soft reset. Do this by pressing the center button and the up volume button simultaneously and try turning it on. If that does not work for you, you will need to get a micro sd card (it can be a dummy) and insert it into the slot on the side of the mp3 player. If you do not have one, you can use one of the round edges of a paper clip (be careful) to get it to come on. When you put either in, it should come on automatically, but if not, just press the power button. This should work to reset it. To charge it in a pc, just plug it up and it should come up. Then in a few seconds, it should start charging.

Sansa express won't turn on

Normal 0 Press and hold the Volume Up (+) and Select buttons at the same time for about 20 seconds
Make sure that the player is charged up.

Try to power reset the device by pressing and holding the center and volume up button at the same time, while connecting it to the PC.

If power reset fails, charge the device for at least two and a half hours. The computer should not be in sleep or hibernation state while charging.

You may need to update firmware.

Sansa express player does not respond.

Try and do what is called a Power Reset. To power reset the device, simultaneously press and hold the center and volume up button, while connecting it to the PC.
If this fails, charge the device for at least two and a half hours. The computer should not go into sleep or hibernation state while charging.
Then you may want to update the players firmware by downloading and installing the Sansa Firmware Updater.
