Put the files on the root of the P2's folder. Unplug the P2. Leave it off for 2 mins, and power up.
Now, if this does not work, you probably need a config.dat file which you copy with the 2 firmware files onto your P2.
Open notepad
write:
YP-P2
XX XX UMS
Replace XX XX with the 2 letters in front of your P2's firmware (Settings>System>about). Example: EU EU UMS
and save as config.dat (remember all files)

Strange noises when playing music
I've read about that. Samsung is now out with another new firmware that deletes the damn sound. Go to samsung.com and firmware, you will find it.

Number pin lock forgotten
Relax. You just plug the P2 to your pc and open SMS (the program which came with the P2), and open up an application called EMODIO. If you dont have it, you need to upgrade the SMS program. Good luck.

My p2 cant be installed
Sounds like your CD is scratched, or corrupted somehow. Try downloading the software straight from samsung
here.

Samsung p2
Plug in the P2. Right click on START and click explore. Go to my computer and find something about P2 like portable media device, of samsung, of P2 etc. click on it. A new window should pop up. click internal storage. Go to pictures folder and highlight the ones you want to delete. While holding the left button right click. Click delete. Done. :)

YP-P2 FIRMWARE PROBLEMS
I had the same problem!
But I found the fix for it after much searching.
First, download the latest firmware directly to your computer's desktop from the Samsung website: http://tinyurl.com/3j4su4
The file is a Zip one so : make sure you extract the 2 files to your desktop!
-Connect your P2 to your computer and go to My Computer.
-Double click the YP2 icon.
-Copy the 2 extracted files from your desktop into the open window. (Do not put them in an already existant folder).
-Unplug the connection from your computer and restart your player.
It will do an update and shut down. Restart it a second time and it will finish the second update.
- There you go, it should work no problem.
The firmware update from having your player connected to the Samsung Media Studio 5 for some reason doesn't work properly.
By doing in manually it works just fine.
The update link I provided is for a US based player.
Just go through the Samsung site to find an update for other contries if you need too and follow the same directions I give above to solve your issues.
Hope this helps!!!

Charging problem
Hello lil ronaldo,
It sounds like the internal battery pack may be failing. The rechargeable batteries commonly used in MP3 players last a long time but they do eventually fail and when that happens the battery will fail to properly hold a charge. It may come up to full voltage when you attempt to charge it but will quickly run out of power when removed from the charger. This sounds like what is happening based on your description.
I would recommend contacting Samsung to get battery replacement service. You can call them at 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864) or use their online service request tool. If the unit is outside of the original manufacturer's warranty there will probably be a charge for the service.
Best Regards,
Ken
