Try the Bluetooth for headphones.. Also if it is under the warranty you should contact them.. sounds like a bad port.

Firmware did not take and you are now stuck with worthless junk. Contact support at manufacturer web site to see if they can help you - don't hold your breath.

Your player can play video file if its format is WMV9 or SVI. It should be the best if you installed the Samsung Media Studio software on your PC and used this for transferring video files to the device. This program will provide that the transferred video files can be played correctly.
This software is on the CD you should have got together with your device.
Additional step to use description can be found in the user manual.

Download the EMODIO software from Samsung to connect to the device.

Note that your player can only play WMV and SVI video file... I'd recommend you follow this guide to convert and copy your video files to the player (Note that there are 2 steps!).

Media players are charged by connecting the supplied USB cable to your player and then connect it to the USB port on your computer when the computer is running.

Please check your driver for malfunction, re install if needed.
If you don't have the driver, just get it downloaded at : www.samsung.com

install its driver ...if it doesn't have one ...it should be seen like a removable drive in My computer ..

i had the same problem, it locked by itself, On the right side of the yp-p2 there are two bottons (see picture) one to put it on and the other on top("hold" word is on it)
I pushed the on botton until i saw the lock in the screen and then i swiped my finger up to the hold button and it started working again.

It is on but you have it locked. Simply Pull down the switch next to the start button.

i can not connect my PY-P2 to my computer i charges but dosen't connect to media player.

yp-u2j black 512mb here, same problem. it seems the experts on their website have no idea what's going on, they are talking to me about the problem being in my computer and asking if i use emodio to transfer my files. other than this, the player works perfectly though.

Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio
Books, etc. from MP3 Player

Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal
Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on
"Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that
you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want,
release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now your mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.

Connect it to your PC and then try to charge it for 5-6 hours as it is the average charging time for mp3/4 player it will help alot.!

It is most likely the headphone jack.
