The first thing to always check is the electrical receptacle if it is plugged in good check the breakers in your electrical panel to see if you have a tripped breaker. If that proves to not be the issue it might just be a bad thermostat on your frig. Try turning the frig up to its highest setting. Then you will know if the thermostat is working or not. BB
Leaking inside refrigerator
Your refrigerator has a drain that leads to the exterior drain pan beneath the refrigerator. Occasionally this drain can become clogged resulting in standing water inside your refrigerator. A similar drain exists in the freezer, which when clogged results in ice build up on the floor of the freezer.
The drain is located either on the floor of the refrigerator, beneath the vegetable crisper, or in the wall behind a drain funnel.
Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into it with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of ¼ inch flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog.
NOTE-(This may be a leveling issue as well)
It is important for the refrigerator to be level. If it is not level, doors may not open or close properly and may not seal tightly. Also, drainage from the defrost cycle might be impaired as might the ice making cycle. The appliance was engineered based on it being installed in a level position. While there may be some tolerance for out-of-level installation, the appliance will operate at its best when properly leveled.
Place a level on top of the refrigerator near the front. Do not put it on the door because the door may not be aligned with the refrigerator case. Check that the refrigerator is level from side to side. Next turn the level to check that it is level from front to back.
If it is not level, adjust one or more of the adjustable leveling feet until it is level. The feet are bolts that can be turned to raise or lower the refrigerator. If they cannot be adjusted with your fingers, use a crescent wrench or pliers.
If you have an ice-maker, it should also be checked for level after first leveling the refrigerator. An ice maker that is out of level will spill water into the ice bin or into the freezer. It can be repositioned by loosening the mounting screws, adjusting it for level and then re-tightening the screws.
We have a frigidaire fridge less than 6 months old
If I were you, I would write an email to the company that tells you it is nothing to worry about just in case it goes out. There should not be any clicking noises and if there is, it may be nothing, but to protect yourself, send that email that you are concerned and ask the techs to respond to your email. You might also send an email to the store that it came from.
We hope everything works out for you and we would love to work with you on any other appliance issues that arises.
It is actually FRT21INLHW4, but i can find no
The cooling coils are normally located around the freezer with the refrigerator being cooled via cold air circulating from the freezer to the refrigerator.
If that concealed fan has failed, the mere fact that cold air falls might explain why the lower compartment is getting the hog's share of the cooling.
You should be able to see vents in the rear of the fridge; hold your hand (wet might be better) in front of those vents.
You should be able to feel a flow of air into the fridge.
If you don't, the fan may have failed.
Try Sears parts section to see if your unit is listed; they often have repair parts for many brands and models, and even more important, an illustration of your model which could guide you on how to access the fan for replacement.
Another possibility is the failure of the defrost timer that controls a heating coil also located near the freezer.
If your defrost heater is staying on because the timer has failed, it could cause the situation you have.
The timer is often located behind the grill at the bottom of the unit.
Some of them have a **** to turn the timer mechanism manually.
You can mark the protruding shaft position with a piece of tape or white-out to monitor if it is still running at all.
With the grill removed, try to remove as much of the dust bunnies from the coils as possible since this prevents the lower fan from getting air onto the coils to disperse the heat from the coils.
My feezer builds up ice at the back on the bottom
That is one of the symptoms of a failed blower fan. Typically on Frigidaire it's behind the metal shield with the thermostat knob at the back of the freezer. Go to an online parts place and look at the diagrams. To see it the fan is failed. Unplug from the wall, remove the shield, if you have an icemaker remove the two screws holding it on the wall and it's connector, then plug in the wall and either check for voltage or watch to see the fan spin.
Frigidaire refrigerator. freezer part gets cold
check your seal around the door, also check the air vents between the freezer and the fresh food section. The appliance has to be able to transfer air between the 2 compartments in order for the fridge to be cooled.
We discovered that the refrigerator was not cool,
The timer is located in the control panel in the fresh food section. Get down on your knees and look up at the control panel. You will see a small hole with a slotted screw in it. Turn the screw clockwise slowly until the refrigerator stops running. This forces the defrost timer to send power to the defrost thermostat and heater. If they are good defrost will commence. You can remove the back panel from the freezer to view the evaporator coils and the thermostat and heater.
If the heater gets hot and begins melting ice, replace the defrost timer in the control panel. If not replace the defrost thermostat and heater in the freezer.
The freezer is cold and keeps things frozen, but
This can occur because of any of the 2 possibilities given below:
1) if the timer is faulty it will clog the air vents with ice and not defrost them at all so no air passes to the refrigerator section to cool it.
To solve this problem getting the timer replaced should solve the issue.Timer costs approx 35 dollars.
2)Refrigerator air vents may be clogged by some other foriegn particles and blocking the cold air to reach
To solve this you need to manually clean the clogged airvents and pipes.also try defrosting your unit for aprox 18 hours. It should help in solving the issue to particular extent too.

everything

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer
are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of
cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.
check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In
most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board.
If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.
You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks
and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace
the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the
timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.
Neither fan nor compressor will
Hi,
Had a same problem last year, the heat exchanger was iced over, took a hair dryer and melted ice. The defrost heater element had gone bad, had to replace it lately.
However, assuming that we have technical expertise please have the following componants tested with a circuit tester :
Defrost Timer
Thermostat
Overload Protector
Let me know if that helped.
Thanks

Fan running but neither refrig or freezer is getting cold.
Your refrigerator may be stuck in defrost cycle. I know it has a defrost timer part number 215846602 Most times they are located inside the fresh food compartment behind the control panel. Sometimes below fridge and behind kick plate. The thermostat could be defective also. You can check that by unplugging the refrigerator remove cover and checking continuity between the two male connections located on the rear side of thermostat control turned as cold as you can turn it. Or you can join the two wires together and plug refrigerator back in to see if compressor comes on. When you find the defrost time turn clockwise slowly until the refrigerator starts. If these don't work let me know and we will do some more test. Sea Breeze
Fresh food section not cooling
Hi, There should be 4 screws holding the rear panel on. The panel should then release. Make sure your evaporator fan motor is running also. You might find ice build up plugging the airway to the freshfood section. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks
