Icebox not cold

Hello - From what you have described it sounds like you might be experiencing some form of sealed system issue or a bad door seal. This can include the compressor not working correctly, the evaporator fan not turning, or even coolant in the lines not at the correct levels to properly cool. If the compressor is running, humming, or even a little warm then that is typically normal. However if the compressor is running hot, then it is over working and the issue could be before the compressor in the evap fan, coil or coolant lines. When was the last time you cleaned the condensers? You may do so by removing the toe grille and use extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush to remove dust buildup from condenser coils usually located on the left side underneath. If you hear the compressor running and if it is providing warm air then that means it is operating correctly and the sealed system is removing heat from the cabinet. Fan motor/evaporator may be the primary issue. However, if you do not hear the compressor and the unit is blowing room temperature then the unit may possibly have a sealed system leak, faulty compressor or overload relay. Try checking if the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check the door from closing then replace the gasket. If any proves to be ineffective, you would need to contact your manufacturer and then a professional to move forward accurately.

Freezer is working fine, fridge

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

Water is coming from the

Hi

If water comes from the back of the refrigerator then it usually indicates that water is coming from either the ice maker water valve or line or from the defrost drain pan.
If the water is coming from the ice maker water valve, check to make sure the water tubes are attached properly and are fastened tightly.
If the water seems to be coming from any part of the valve itself, replace the valve.
If the water appears to be coming from the defrost drain pan, inspect for holes or cracks, and replace the pan if necessary.

Let us know if you have something more to ask else please accept the solution.

Not cooling low enough

Hello, A refrigerator or freezer that is not cooling, but cooling poorly, may have a problem in one of several areas:
EVAPORATOR COILS or
CONDENSER
Poor cooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporator coils or a condenser that is clogged with dust, lint, and dirt.
EVAPORATOR COILS:Poor cooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporator coils. You can't see these coils without removing a panel on the inside of your freezer. A sure sign that there is a build up, is the presence of any frost or ice build-up on the inside walls, floor, or ceiling of the freezer. Such a frost build-up usually indicates a problem in the self-defrosting system or damaged door gasket.
The refrigerator is supposed to self-defrost approximately four times in every 24 hour period. if one of the components in the self-defrosting system fails, the refrigerator continues to try to cool.
Eventually, though, so much frost builds up on the evaporator coils that the circulating fan can't draw air over the coils. There may still be a small amount of cooling because the coils are icy, but with no air flow over the coils, cooling in the refrigerator compartment is quite limited.
Here's an inexpensive, though inconvenient, way to determine if the problem is with the self-defrosting
system. Remove all of the perishable food from the refrigerator and freezer, turn the thermostat in the refrigerator to off, and leave the doors open for 24 to 48 hours (be sure to have several towels ready in case the melting frost and ice causes the drip pan to overflow). This allows the refrigerator to defrost "manually". When the frost and ice build-up has completely melted away, turn the thermostat back to a normal setting. If the refrigerator then cools properly, it indicates a problem with one of three components in the self-defrosting system:
  • The defrost timer
  • The defrost thermostat(also called the bi-metal switch)
  • The defrost heater
If it still does not cool properly, there may be a problem with the refrigerant level or the compressor. You may need to consult with a qualified appliance repair technician to further diagnose the problem.
CONDENSER: Self-defrosting refrigerators all have a set of coils and a cooling fan, usually under the refrigerator, that need to be cleaned regularly. If these coils get coated with dust, dirt, or lint, the refrigetator may not cool properly. The coils may appear to be thin, black, wide radiator-like device behind the lower kick-panel. To clean them, disconnect the refrigerator from the power source, use a refrigerator condenser brush and a vacuum cleaner to clean the coils of any lint, pet hair, etc. You may not be able to get to all of the condenser from the front , it may be necessary to clean the remainder of the condenser from the rear of the refrigerator.
Thanks

My refrigerator blowing warm air ice melted frozen

The problem you have it can be due to many reasons.
1. Their might be a leackage of freon somewhere. So first you must find the point of leacking weld it and then you will need new freon to add and also to replace the filter before.
If the leaking is on main valuable part like evaporator or condenser or compressor this might not posible to repain and you will need a new one.
2. The compressor have been damage so you will need compressor, filter and freon.
3. The thermostat is not working, you need only thermostat.

So if is only the case 3 is worth to repair in anycase. Case 1 and two is vary verymuch from technician to technician since first they can cheat sometimes and second they don't charge the same for labour cost.

In anycase if you refrigerator is in good condition and is very expensive to buy a new one, then worth for calling a technician to make you an estimation before you proceed with repairing it.
Just bair in mind that the average life of refrigerators today is about 13 years.
Good luck

Unit is running just not cold in fridge and freezer is warm

It probably needs a defroster timer. You can take it apart and clean the contacts with some sand paper to fix the old one. It's located just behind the light bulb. You will have to lower the cover for the light to get to it. Defrost the top freezer by leaving it off for a period of time or take the shelves out and blowing hot air into the rear vents until ice melts. Then reinstall timer and plug back in. Get the whole model number and go to appliancepartspro.com to get a diagram. I fixed mine in less than an hour. frt18il6dw

Fridge is dripping directly onto top shelf. It is

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curtain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you have any other question.
