Gateway GT4015E AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz / 1GB DDR / 200GB HDD / DVDRW DL / DVD-Rom / Flash PC Desktop Questions & Answers
Hi,
All of a sudden my monitor stop working,
Your graphics card PCI is damage if you are using on-board graphics then your motherboard has developed a fault to get around this fault you will need to open up your computer by taking the side panel off and checking to see if you have a graphics card in your slot if you havent then its an easy fix take note of where the graphics goes this is usualy the top slot if it has a little **** followed by a bigger one then its a PCI graphics card, if it has 2 normal same slots then you have an AGP slot after knowing which one you have you can go to any computer shops or online auction shops and type in either AGP or PCI graphics card, "remember it does count on how much you spend" after buying this its just as simple as un-screwing the screw that hold a plate in place, removing the plate, slotting in your new graphics card and putting the screw only into the little hold to fix your graphics card to the computer, then putting your VGA cable into that one and turning on your computer it will show everythign there after fully booting up just insert the cd that came with your graphics card and installing.

I have a gateway gt4015e.
Make sure the computer and the monitor both have power going to them and that they are both on.
Make sure that the cable from the computer to the monitor is connected firmly. You have to determine if you are using a video card or on board video (video built into the motherboard). If you have two ports to plug into on the back of the pc make sure you are plugged into the right one. Try to use the monitor on another computer or a different monitor on that computer to see if you can isolate it to one or the other.Could be a bad cable, video card,or monitor. You should try to test the devices to narrow it down.
Desaster
If the board on a hardrive is bad, it is UNLIKELY that replacing the board will make the drive work. The original may have "tuning" to the disk that a replacemnt doesn't have.
To avoid data loss you would probably have to go to a recovery outfit and pay plenty.
There is no installer in onboard video
If I understand, you want to install video driver and there is no installer or (.exe) file to run.
If this is the case, right-click on my computer - properties - click device manager then hardware. Assuming your running on Windows XP. Then click on the plus sign near display adapter then right-click on the name of the display adapter - update driver... then in the wizard; point to the folder containing the adapter driver, click ok and it sould install it.

1. 256 mb ddr 1
2. 128 mb ddr 1
module of 2 gb in ddr1 are hard to find
but all you can do is take out these two modules and replace with 2 x 1 gb ddr 1 modules
easy...
thanks
I have a gateway GT4015E
Open up your pc case unplug the hardrive from the motherboard and plug it into another sata port
No Video Signal
Try resetting the bios. On the motherboard there is a battery that looks like a watch battery. Remove the battery, then replace it again. (make sure the computer is unplugged from the wall socket when you do this)
Does this work?
Sound
Go to control panel, then click on system, then click on the tab hardware, then device manager
Look down the list under sound, video, & games controllers.
Check if the sound is set up, if not set up you will see something to the nature of audio controller with a yellow ! point. This means the driver is not installed. Go to Gateway's website to download the driver for your sound card if this is the case. If not check the soun properties to see if you have it muted.
Hope this helps
I have a Gateway LP2417 monitor and there's No sound.Hoe do I fix it,so I can hear the video that is playing?
This monitor may not have built-in speakers. It may have supported Gateway's monitor mounted sound bar. That sound bar connected to the 3.5 mm audio out on a computer and a DIN port on the monitor.
The simplest solution is to connect your source to appropriate speakers. Depending on your audio setup, you could connect the video source to a receiver with HDMI IN and HDMI Out (ARC), computer speakers or an audio extractor. (If you are using an HDMI cable between the Gateway LP2417 and a computer, you may need to reset the audio output to use basic computer speakers (3.5mm jack).) VGA and DVI connections don't support audio so I assume you are using the HDMI port.
I hope this helps.

How to make touch screen on gateway computer upside down and how to put it back?
f you want to use your touch screen on your gateway computer in an upside down orientation, there are a few things you need to do.
First, you need to change the orientation of the screen in the control panel. To do this, go to the control panel and select "Display." Next, click on the "Settings" tab and then click on the "Orientation" drop-down menu. Select "Landscape (flipped)" from the menu and then click on the "Apply" button.
Now that the orientation of the screen has been changed, you need to adjust the position of the touchscreen so that it is in the correct position. To do this, go to the control panel and select "Hardware and Sound." Next, select "Pen and Touch" and then click on the "Calibrate" button.
Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the touchscreen. Once you have finished, the touchscreen should be working correctly in the upside down orientation.
I hope this helps!
