There is a DYI fix for this that is simple to do.

Looking at the front of the printer, you will need to remove white panel in the RIGHT side. (Pull outward on the bottom of the panen and it should easily come off without damaging it.) This will reveal the small gears that are attached to the printer and the lid.

There is a small plastic piece sticking thru the side of the printer and is moved by the gears. When the printer lid is open, the plastic piece is allowed to move down towards the bottom of the printer. When the lid is closed, the plastic piece moves towards the top of the printer.

In the printer I just fixed, the plastic gear was partially broken and the part that should contact this plastic piece was missing.

The fix:

1. Use tape an tape the plastic piece to the top of the hole so it will always register the lid as being closed

2. Keep the side panel off and, when you close the lid, make sure the plastic piece is lifted and held in place by what remains of the gear.

This fix just saved my customer from having to discard over 10 ink jet cartridges - easily several hundred dollars.

While this fix is not supported by HP, it will allow you to continue to use the printer.

Go to control Panel>printers> then right click on yor printer and select online. If this does not solve your problem then either your printer cable is not connected properly or it is faulty. Try with any other cable if available or you can also try to install the latest driver for your printer.

Thanks for using FixYa. Check your anti-virus software. The anti-virus software might be blocking the program to run, which work exactly like a firewall. Try turning off windows firewall and antivirus software and then check.


Also try to reinitiate the connection of router with printer. Check the settings of the router for more information regarding the setup with printer. Try turning off the printer, unplug it to reset it and then try.

Follow these steps to use the photo/envelope feeder for single envelopes:
1. Insert the envelope into the photo/envelope feeder with the side to be printed on

facing down and the flap to the left.
Push the envelope into the printer as far as it will go without bending.
3. Slide the photo/envelope feeder forward as far as it will go.

1. Print a Network Configuration Page from the product.
2. On the front panel of the product, press Setup .
3. Press the arrow buttons to select Network and then press OK .
4. Press the arrow buttons to select Network Settings and then press OK .
5. Press the arrow buttons to select Network Configuration page and then press OK . NOTE: If the page does not print, unplug the power cable from the back of the product, wait a few seconds and then plug it back in. Repeat the previous steps, a-d, to print the configuration page.

this time your printer is offline in the control panel... keep it online at your printer setting....

If you're on XP, download HP Deskjet Basic Feature Software/Driver and then install this software.

Next, go to the "Printers and Faxes" part of the XP control panel and add the printer. Unless the printer has its own server (very unlikely for home use), then even if it is installed on a wired or wireless network, you need to add it as a local printer (again this should be done even if you have it connected to your local network), then add the printer. You may need to add a new port for the networked printer.

• Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
• Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
• restart the computer
• Click Here to download drivers from the website
• after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
• then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

Hi, you will have to stop sharing your printer, if you have the administrator rights to do this you will have to go to the printer properties click on sharing and click do not share and save.

that should stop them from using your printer

Have you check the control panel to verify that the printer is installed and if so do you have a wireless printer.

Go to printer properties setup your printer......
then test print.... or a 2page file print current page.......ok

Hello. First of all I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I recently bought a HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3515 printer. The printer works fine (prints, scans and copies). There is only one problem with it. It returns me an error when I'm shutting it off. This happens very often but not always, it is kinda annoying. The error is displayed as: ERROR CODE 0X02B7C2ED SM_MODULE C (the error is also shown on the image). I tried to Google the problem but without effects. I don't know what could be the problem. Can someone help me please, because I have no idea what could be the issue. Thanks for any replays.

If you are using a Windows PC, search for devices and printers. Once you find the printer, right click on it, go into printing preferences and you should find a tab in there that will all you to disable color. If you want to be able to print in both and black will not print, make sure your black ink cartridge is not empty or that it is properly installed.
