Canon PIXMA MP470 All-in-One Printer - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Printer only takes paper from one end resulting in a paper jam
I would not have believe this if I have not actually experienced it. Today, my Canon PIXMA MP470 started feeding my paper crooked, to the right where the feed roller is located. Did some research and found numerous people discovered foreign objects inside their printers. Since I had tried numerous other solutions, such as maintenance cleanings from the printer control area. I decided to unplug the printer, turn it upside down and shake it, hoping to dislodge a foreign object. It didn't work. I then took compressed air and sprayed vigorously inside the printer, and tried it again. It didn't work. I then took some card stock (the type used for making greeting cards), put it into the printer and began printing a word processed document - just something to get the card stock to enter the printer. I manually forced it into the printer as it started to print, then after the card stock was about two inches into the printer I manually pulled the card stock back, and THERE IT WAS! My memory card insertion slot protector from my netbook! Thank you Jesus! It is a small piece of black plastic that had fallen from the top of my printer, where I had foolishly placed it while I was using the memory slot in my netbook. Printer works great again! I hope this helps someone!
MP470, Paper jam on one side
There is something jammed in there....shake it upside down first.....if nothing then revese feed a paper through it manually......take left side off hold paper in front and roll wheel on the left side so the paper feeds back into the machine,,,,,,open top to see in there and when paper feeds under white rollers make sure it dosent jam where wite rollers are about an inch from the right there is a small rectangle hole with a black plastic piece in there pry it up carfullywith a paper clip and feed paper with the wheel under it at that point the paper push out a bobby pin into my back tray,,,,, now everything works great.......keep checking i didn't believe something was there either but there was..... also if your paper first starts to feed and stops pull out the paper and check for a bend or crinp in it mine kept doing that and that is exactly where the pin finally came out.....
Canon mp470 can't accept refilled cartridge
Canon mp470 is an excellent printer.I will always recommend using original catridges in your printer.Refilled catridges are not accepted by the manufacturers.Let me tell you i used to work for HP in the beginning of my carreer. I have seen that HP refused to accept refilled catriges. hence i would reccommend you take a cotton cloth ,remove the catridges from the printer.Clean the print heads using that cotton cloth n then reinstall the catridges back .......
Lets see if this resolves the issue

Canon pixma mp140 ink absorber - what does it look
Hi Lang,You will need to replace the ink absorber - please call 1-800-652-2666 to order this part, and it will come with directions on how to install it, it's a fairly cheap accessory. After a while all ink absorber pads become too full and must be replaced. Additionally, you can try to reset this error, as long as your prints look ok you can usually do this once before having to replace it:
- Press and hold both the "Stop/Reset" and the "Power" buttons on your printer.
- Release the "Stop/Reset" button.
- Push the "Stop/Reset" button two times, while continuing to press the "Power" button.
- Release the "Power" button. Your printer is now in Service mode.
- Insert paper into the paper tray.
- Push the "Stop/Reset" button four times.
- Press the "Power" button to turn off the printer. The printer will print counter information about the ink absorber before powering off.
- The printer will now work normally.
