After refitting two colours, the print command

Hi, the problem you are having could be a software problem, what you should try first is to disconnect the printer from your computer then uninstall the software for the printer, then start all over again and reinstall the software then connect the printer to your computer doing this should solve any software related problems you may be having, it could be that the software is now corrupt or could even be a virus you picked up somewhere.

if you are unsure on how to uninstall the software give me a shout back ok but it will either be under the start button then all programs then find the software in the list highlight it with the mouse then it should have an option for uninstall if it dont you need to go into the start button then choose control panel then add or remove software then uninstall it that way just remember to unplug the printer from computer first then dont plug it back in until you have put the software back on your computer then hopefully that will solve your problem.

if it dont give me a shout back and ill do my best to assist you further ok

My Canon MP610 all-in-one printer

If problem is same after running a self test from printer, then prob. you have clogged nozzles; remove cartridges and soak (surface) of head into hot water for 20 sec. and test over a tissue. Repeat untill ink is seen on tissue.

If no use, then make sure you have enough ink in the cartridges. Otherwise, refill or replace.

good luck and pls. don't forget to vote. Thanks

Hello,
on the printers control board you have a buton that is called Resume/Cancel, it is the buton near the copy black and copy color butons. You can recognize it by the red triangle in a red circle.
Press this buton for at least 10 seconds, if the error is not gone from the first time press and hold the buton for at least 10 seconds for the second time.
Now the printer will have the ink level counter disabled but do not worrie it will worj just as well.

Reinstalled MP610 but printing edges still not

Try do a auto head alignment in case the printer is off center. Go to your main menu of your printer then setting - maintenance - auto align head. This should fix your problem if not try a manual head align this will print a piece of paper out and you can scan it through.

How do you scan?

Open the Applications folder on the hard disk on which MP Navigator is installed, then open the Canon Utilities folder and double-click the navicon.gif MP Navigator 3.0 icon. MP Navigator opens.
2. Point to Scan/Import and click 'Photos/Documents (Platen)'.

3. Place the document face-down on the platen glass, and select 'Document Type'.
How to place the document and Document Type depends on the document to be scanned.

How to place the document
Allow 3/8 inches (1 cm) or more space between the edges of the platen glass and the document.
Align a corner of the document with the corner at the arrow of the platen.

  • When you select Color Photo or Black and White Photo, the position or size of the image may not be scanned correctly if you do not leave 3/8 inches (1 cm) or more space between the edges of the platen glass and the document.

  • When you select Magazine(Color), the Descreen function will be enabled and scanning takes longer than usual. To reset the Descreen function, disable Descreen in the Scan Settings dialog box.

4. Click 'Specify'... and set the preferences as required.
The Scan Settings Dialog Box opens. Specify the Document Size and Scanning Resolution.

5. Click 'Scan'.
Scanning will begin.
When the document has been scanned, the scanned image is displayed in the Thumbnail List area.

Make sure that there is not a jam in the paper intake well. remove the paper and tilt the printer towards you and lightly tap the back to dislodge anything that might be up there. My printer says UO52 after

U052 is the error code for a bad printhead, not a bad ink tank, so that is a little odd. First try another ink tank, even your old one. Are you using refilled ink tanks? I see a lot of odd problems with refilled ink.
If a new tank doesn't work, you need a new printhead. It is user replaceable.

My refilled cartridge doesn't seem to be

To let the printer recognized the refilled ink you must do the reset procedure to clear the error. Here's how to do it.

1. Disconnect power cord from the back of the printer.
2. Press and hold down Power button while plugging the cord back in.
3. While holding the Power button, press the Reset button twice
(The printer will display "Factory 1". Allow the printer to finish reading until the word "idle" appears, it will take sometime)
4. Disconnect the power cord.
5. Reconnect the power cord
6. Turn the printer on

If errors still persist, this one for finale.
1. Press and hold the Reset button.
2. Release the Reset button when the printer restart by itself.

Let me know if this procedure help you.
Please comeback and do rate this solution.
Thanks for using Fixya.

I do not have cartridges in my canon mp610 at the

Without cartridges installed on a printer, it'll never run unless you install them. You'll see the error message and you'll not be able to do anything. If you have old cartridges, you can try. While there's an error message, you can't even scan or copy or print. So the only solution is to install the cartridges and do whatever you have to do with it.

Good luck..

Thanks for using FixYa.
