My canon MX 328 is
Please reset the printer
1. Turn off your printer
2. Press and hold the
STOP/RESET button
3. Press and hold Power ON button
4. While
holding the Power ON button, release the STOP/RESET button
5. While
holding still the Power ON button, press twice the STOP/RESET button
6.
Release the Power ON button
7. Wait until it display an "idle"
message. It will take about a minute.
8. When "idle" appear, open
the top cover to expose the cartridges.
9. Lift up the cover for
cartridge holder and take out both the black and color cartridges
10.
Return the cover of cartridge holder and turn off the printer
11.
Return the top cover and turn on the printer again
12. After the
printer initialize, return the cartridges.
1. Press and Hold the
STOP/RESET button and wait until it self restart.
2. Release the
STOP/RESET button the the printer is restarting.
3. Wait for a few
seconds

remove the two ink cartridges from the printer, both the black and color
clean the contact surface ( the surface where the terminals inside the printer touches) with a clothe moistened with alcohol.
after cleaning the contact, return the cartridges back to the printer.

The C-CRT is an alert that you need to replace the Colour Cartridge. Likewise, if you ever get B-CRT it means you need to replace the Black Cartridge.

Try this method to get the ink flowing:
- Simply fill a saucer with approx 2mm of just boiled water
- Place the print head in the saucer with the head in the water.
- Leave the head in the water for approx 2 - 5 Mins
- The Heat will assist in dissolving any blockages and help the ink to flow with out using any chemicals.
If it is a compatible cartridge you have used then it is possible to get a failure. Most are re-manufactured and are not 100% Reliable.
Also make sure the contacts on the inside of the printer are clean and all there. sometimes they can be damaged by removing and replacing cartridges. these can be cleaned with alcohol wipes.

you have to remove the ink cartridges. Using a clean clothe moistened with alcohol,wipe the dirt at the surface contact of the cartridges. This contact is where the terminal inside the printer touches.

You might remove the print cartridges and inspect the printheads for contamination. If they look at all smeary, gently clean them with cotton swabs and window cleaner, nothing stronger.

Possible that the printer requires a resetting so remove your printer from the PC and un-install the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts
