Hi try switching printer off & on. If that doesn't work, check the paper path for stray bits of paper or another obstruction.

Hi, Scaled Printing The procedure for specifying a scaling value and printing a document with pages enlarged or reduced to match the document to the paper size is as follows: 1. Open the printer driver setup window, and select Scaled Printing from the Page Layout list on the Page Setup tab. 2. Using Page Size, select the page size that was set with your application. 3. Do either of the following to set a scaling factor: Select a Printer Paper Size. Select a printer paper size, which is different from the Page Size, from the Printer Paper Size list. If the printer paper size is smaller than the Page Size, the page image will be reduced. If the printer paper size is larger than the page size, the page image will be enlarged. Specify a scaling factor. Directly type in a value into the Scaling box. The current settings are displayed in the Settings Preview on the left side of the printer driver. 4. Click OK. When you execute print, the document will be printed with the specified scale. Note If the application software with which you created the original has the scaled printing function, configure the settings on your application software. You do not need to also configure the same setting in the printer driver. When Scaled Printing is selected, the Staple Side list box appears grayed out and is unavailable (when Duplex Printing is not selected). When Borderless Printing check box is checked for the Page Layout list, Scaled Printing cannot be selected. Tip Selecting Scaled Printing changes the printable area. Hope this helps Mark

You would want to go into the software provided by the printer or download a software that will walk you through an envelope printing template on how to do so. I'm not sure how fancy you want to get, but even Microsoft Word has the printing capability for envelopes.

Reload your driver, ill bet you have the fax only driver installed

In the software or function selections there should be a reset to factory settings. That worked for my scanner. Also, if that does not work try callig the manufactorer for technical help.

Hi Paper misfeeds are normally caused by something obstructing the paper path. Look really carefully both above and below the path that the paper takes through the printer. The jammed paper itself can give you a clue about which side the obstruction is on, there wiil often be some sign, such as a bent corner on the page etc. Also check the sliding guides that keep the paper straight, they should be slid in until they are a snug fit with the paper, but not so tight that they stop it from feeding

Read your instruction book its all in there.
We all need to learn how to do these things but sometimes its best just to sit down a read the book for 1 hour or so.

Anyway to make a document or photo print darker;
Go into Printer preferences
Effects
Check the box; Simulate illustration
Then move the contract bar to you setting you require
You have other option in the as well such as;
Vivid photo
Image optimizer
Photo Optimizer pro
Photo Noise Reduction

Take it out and put it back on again.. Try with the old one and see if its recognized.

Instructions

1. • 1 Switch the Canon MX310 off using the "Power" button, then push the "Stop/Reset" button on the control panel. Hold the button down for about five seconds.
   • 2 Push the "Power" button while holding "Stop/Reset." Hold down both buttons for five seconds.
   • 3 Release "Stop/Reset" while holding down the "Power" button.
   • 4 Push "Stop/Reset" twice while continuing to hold the "Power" button. Release the "Power" button. The power light will turn green.
   • 5 Once the light is steady green, push "Stop/Reset." Wait about three seconds and push it again. Wait three more seconds and push it one final time, for a total of three times. The power light will turn orange.
   • 6 Push the "Power" button, then lift the MX310 cover open.
   • 7 Remove both ink cartridges and wait 10 seconds. Replace the cartridges and close the MX310 cover. Wait 30 seconds.
   • 8 Push the "Power" button. Wait a few seconds to allow the printer to fully power down, then switch the Canon MX310 back on using the "Power" button.

I have had this problem too. It only happens occasionally, and I have never really sorted it. I have made a test sheet with the same line (including some bold and some italic) copied some 15 times, starting with a 20 point font , and decreasing down to about 8 point (Times New Roman) Print that a few times and see if any faults are repeated on each sheet. It may just be wear and tear.

Turn off printer.
Remove both the cartridges from the printer. Use a clothe moistened with alcohol to clean the surface contact on the cartridges where the terminals inside the printers touches.
Return the cartridges and turn on the printer.

Error 5100 means that the cartridge can not be detected by the printer.

you can run a troubleshooting program from your computer, left click on the printer and go to the troubleshooter
