Not recognising new ink catridge

Please consider the following:
Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

Why my scanner does not work?and my printer

Thats like asking why your engine works but your tires are flat. You need scanning software on your computer for the scanner to work, but if you just want a copy you press copy. It won't scan until it knows where to send the scan and how you want it scanned.

MP140 can't recognise the black cartridge that

Error code 4 normally indicates that there is no unk, and the solution is by installing a genuine cartridge, Try to use Black PG40 remanufactured Canon printer ink cartridge. This cartridge is a high capacity cartridge which has been filled with 23ml of ink compared with the 16ml (Black) that you get with the originals. Compatible with: Canon Pixma MP140. if this error still occur it is better that you try the following procedure below:-

When you insert a refilled ink cartridge into your Pixma MP140 printer you should get a warning about the refilled cartridge. You should also be prompted, asking if you wish to disable ink level detecting. Agree to do so, and you won’t get the warnings again because the ink levels won’t be monitored by the printer.

Thanks

Canon MP the problem is error E4

E4 says the ink is empty, sometimes you can print if you just press and hold the OK button for a few seconds, but if the error doesn't clear, you will have to replace the color ink before you can print in just black.

Ink Refill

You have refilled the ink that is why it reports low ink.
The explanation for this, is that the ink cartridge estimates the ink level by using the number of pages you have printed. Once you have reached a pre-programmed number of pages, the ink cartridge reports that it is empty; but it is not necessarily empty.
If it prints then continue printing. However, it will always give a low ink warning. Remember to get it refilled once the pages start getting missing text (or graphics).
If you cannot print, then you will either have to purchase a new cartridge or ask the person at the refill shop to reset it, if it is possible.
