Nikon D300 Body Only Digital Camera Questions & Answers
My D300s is not powering
Try a que tip with rubbing alcohol into the battery compartment of the 300s. Rub the terminals with the moistened que tip gently and look for dirt, dust, debris in the compartment.
Nikon r47 error
Is this preventing you from shooting? Normally the r-number merely indicates how many additional shots you can take in the current burst before the buffer fills. It's strictly informational, and should not disrupt your shooting (until the number drops to zero and the buffer fills, at which time the camera will slow down while it transfers the pictures from the buffer to the memory card).
How to remove battery compartment door
Just open the door, Grab the door between your thumb and index finger, Pull to the side towards the front or the back of the camera, And the door will just pop off ! It has pins that sit inside of the hinge of the body, pull slowly but hold firm, TC
Front focus
He Pete, My Nikon, also has front focus. But most DSLRs have more or less front or back focus. Thats why you can correct this. The setup menu has an option called AF fine tune. (second last line)
If you are not familiar with this (I guess that is the reason you asked this question) you can look on lots of internet pages, where they explain how to check and how to correct this.
I'll add one link for you, but there are many more. Some sites also offer the possibility to print a correction card. Some magazines, sometimes add cards as a service. But that could be just luck when you get one.
Focus Testing In the (English) manual of your camera you can find how to fine-tune your camera on page 327.
Success.
D300 pop up flash button broken
Do you mean that the flash won't pop up? The usual cause is either impact to the flash unit or sticky liquid spillage on the flash causing it to stick down. Unfortunately Nikon stopped selling parts on July 13th so unless you can find parts on Ebay you will need to send the camera to Nikon to repair an impact problem. If the flash button is stuck it may be broken.
Self timer on nikon d300
on the top of the camera, there is a dial which says QUAL, WB and ISO. Look for button and ring just below this. It should say S, CL, CH, Lv, a clock and Mup. Press the button to release the ring and rotate it to the clock icon to activate self timer
