yes the drain pump should start at this point so I would suspect a faulty drain pump,But try a reset first push and hold power button until lights reset then try a cycle if this fails to fix problem then I would suspect the drain pump.adrian,,,,,

Check your drain hose. It should be mounted up so water and debris from the garbage disposal can't backwash into it. Your dishwasher comes with a check-valve, but sometimes it doesn't always work 100%, so it is important to mount that drain hose up. Are you sure the breaker is big enough to carry the Amps needed to start the drying cycle. You know that due to inductance it takes almost twice as many amps to start a motor as it does to run it.Find out how many Watts it uses and divide it by 120VAC and it will give the maximum amps it will draw.
