The most probable thing wrong is going to be a blown fuse on the control panel. To check for that, disconnect power to dishwasher by turning off circuit breaker ,remove torx headed screws from around the inner door, seperate inner/outer door panel, remove the plastic cover off of the control panel, and use a multimeter set to measure ohms and remove the 2 wires to the thermal fuse and check for continuty with ZERO ohms resistiance on the thermal fuse. IF the fuse is blown the meter display will show OL or the display will not change...if using a meter with a needle the needle will not move if the fuse is blown..if the fuse is good the display will show 0.00-1.00 on a digital meter and the needle will swing all the way to the right and stay there on analog meter. If the fuse does check to be good the most likely cause of the diswasher not running will be the door switches. Here is what the fuse looks like
Good luck i hope i helped you to fix your dishwahser, GENE
If clean light is blinking then it may be an
issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to
the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error.
If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing
this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air
Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub,
energy saver dry or High Temp Wash-Heated Dry-High Temp Wash-Heated Dry.
Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button
and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue
with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to
lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and
is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a
multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on
Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum
and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you
need more information.
If the water inlet
valve is fine and it fills with water then theissue seems to be with the float
switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found
inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills the dishwasher
lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for
the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby
shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may
interfere with dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use voltmeter to
test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and
touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either
zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down
on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If
the switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it.Hope this helps...please post back for
further assistance.
Yes their is a thermal fuse that clips onto the housing of the control board This is what it looks like To check it seperate the inner door panel from the outer door panels and use a meter and check for continuty..if it does not ahve continuty it is bad. Its part# 8193762 It can be purchased at your local applaince parts store or online at; searspartsdirect.com repairclinic.com apdepot.com apwagner.com midwestapplianceparts.com
probily just needs tightened if that dont work its just the rubber washer in the fill line just turn off water unhook like from the dishwasher side look inside the line [ where the threds are] you should find a rubber washer and take to hardwear store and replace... good luck. i hope this helps
Do you have hard water? Many states have passed laws that outlawed
phosphate as an ingredient in dishwasher detergent. If you have hard
water, the detergents don't work very well anymore. The "sand and grit" is
probably hard water deposits (calcium and magnesium). Not harmful but
it looks awful on your dishes. There are some new products that were
designed to solve this exact problem. They are inexpensive and
effective. Can't say the name or I'll get banned (again). Internet
search will uncover it.
Look in the bottom of the dishwasher and see if there is anything stuck in the drain. You may need to use a flashlight and a mirror to see down the drain. Usually when the light comes on it is because something is in the drain that is preventing the proper operation of the impeller that pumps the water out of the washer.
If you see nothing in the drain then i think the heating element has gone out and they usually take the control board with them when they go. There is a test you can do to confirm this.
Try pushing the heat dry and then normal back to back three times and then start as usual. This should clear the problem. It is only a temporary fix as the heating element is already gone.
If this is the case you will need to have a service person look at your unit. A good handyman can fix this also. You will need to order a new heating element and control board.
First make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump
assembly located inside the lower front panel of the dishwasher. If the issue
returns after its cleaned then it means that the control board has gone bad and
should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
First of all i had !!! the same unit , we had so many problems with it I gave up and purshcast a GE cheep one. never had a problem since, but getting back to your problem , the only filter is the bottom of the unit looking inside , I dont care what they say you need to prerince everything , and use a good soap , I find useing less soap is better then filling the door cup to the top, We replaced the door switch twice and the main panel inside once and also had problems with the touch panel it is a very poor system for what you paid for this unit , good luck with it Guy
There could be a couple of things to consider. First, is your water temperature hot enough to dissolve the detergent? It should be 140 degrees if you're using dissolvable tablets or a powder detergent. Second, your sprayer arms might be clogges with "gook." If so, you'll need to remove them and flush them at your kitchen sink. I sometimes have to take a toothpick or tweezers to remove bits of bone, paper, fruit or vegetable peel, from the jet holes. I hope this helps. If it does, please come back and rate my solution.
Most likely YES! The rinse aid helps the water to be completely removed and with the water goes the suds, debris, etc. A rinse aid has a sheeting action to effectively remove the water. There are several different brands of rinse aids. Jet Dry is the one that comes immediately to mind.Usually the refill area for the rinse aid is adjacent to the soap dispenser. Your manual will tell you how to add the rinse aid. Once it's been added, your problem should disappear.I hope this helps. If it does, please return to fixya and rate my answer!
Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. The relay on the control board is fused closed. Control needs to be replaced.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..
Using a dilute solution of 1 teaspoon chlorine bleach to 1 cup water, spray the screen and gaskets. Wait about 20 minutes to give the bleach time to kill the spores and bleach them. Then gently wipe with a paper towel or cloth towel. This should kill and remove the spores. THEN leave the door open overnight to let air circulate inside the dishwasher. If your mold problem disappears, continue to leave the door ajar once a week so that air can circulate. Mold does not live in open, airy spaces. I hope this helps you. If it does, please come back to Fixya and rate my solution.
You have to check the float switch assembly and try to clean
it, it might be going bad or needs cleaning. Check this video to locate the
float switch assembly:
