How to replace door springs
There is a service bulletin on the spring and connector(the cord that connects the spring to the door)The spring for the hinges part number is 4970ED4004G. You will need to change the connector assembly for each hinge (plastic colored black at each end of the cord instead of white) and that part number is 4933DD3001B. I use a heavy coat hanger with a hook bent at the end. At the other end where I hold it, I've bent the remaining length of the hanger into a handle of sorts. This gizmo is about 1.5 feet long. Release as much tension from the springs as possible by closing the door. Using a headlamp, remove the kick panel and locate where the springs are attached to the lower frame. Now, using the coat hanger, hook the end of the spring that is attached to the cord. Pull firmly against the spring tension with one hand and unhook the spring from the cord with the other. Do this on both sides. Reach underneath and remove the springs and replace them with the new versions, hooked in same place as the old ones. Replace the cords with the black upgraded versions and reverse the above procedure. You shouldn't have to remove the washer from the counter to do this. Just take your time and don't get frustrated--I do this all the time, you *don't*. The hardest part is trying to hold the spring forward enough to latch the cord connector onto the hinge. That's where having that coat hanger is a blessing! Otherwise, you're gonna have to pull the dishwasher out of the counter and that can be a real pill. Good luck and I hope I helped you!

LG Dishwasher - drain hose replacement
Hello, I have just installed a similar model, and took the side panel off to see how it was put together ;)
The drain hose goes in the back of the dishwasher, then loops up the right side (as you are looking at the front)(this is to act as a "trap" to keep sewer gases from coming back into your washer, I assume), and then connects to the drain pump under the washer.
In order the change the hose, you will need to remove the left side panel, and the bottom panel, and this will give you access to the entire hose....
Hope this helps!

Drain hose cracked and needs
you will have to pull the dishwasher out. and it is best to lay it on its back in order to get to it. there is also a clip in the bottom that holds it in place, all you need to do is pry it up and thats it all set.

Our stainless LG dishwasher does
First
perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar
into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest
setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher
most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the
problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the
problem.
There are many probable causes of failure .
To
clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not
hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water
temperature.
Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter.

LG model LDS5811WW/02 has never cleaned the dishes
if the soap/detergent isn't completely rinsing out of dispenser, it sounds like water isn't directed the top spray-arm. possible a defective vario motor; as it directs water to the water channel that supplies water to the middle and upper spray arms.

LG LDF8812 Diswasher - Self Cleaning Filter not cleaning itself
you should not have to use any type of screwdriver to remove filter. The rest of it , leave alone. Take both rotors out and run unit. Both rotors top and bottom should push water through at a good rate. If not, a blockage in water /motor line. I suspect the rotors simply need to be properly cleaned, If not rotating properly it will cause undesolved residue.

Dishes are still dirty after washing
The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

The dishes come out with white film on them.
Are you having any issues with your water heater at all. Make sure to run the water at the kitchen sink on the hot side first ti ensure hot water is getting to your dishwasher. Also make sure that the jet dry dispenser has jet dry in it. Hope this helps.

LG LDF8812ST WONT DRAIN JUST INTERMITTENT BUZZ NOISE
Hi, there may be an obstruction in the pump housing that is causing the motor to freeze or, the impeller may be stripped and , jamming the pump. this will cause the hum you are hearing. the best way to inspect is to , extract the drain pump by, removing
the bottom drain filter housing or sump. manually
move the pump impeller to self it is moving freely. if the impeller is stripped, it will not be able to produce the draining surge necessary to pull the water out.
If the impeller is fine and, there are no obstructions visible, this will confirm pump failure.. replace the pump in this case
Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller,
takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the
water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the
dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

The filter assembly in my LG dishwasher is always getting dirty.
Hi Jim,
Make sure that all the spray arms are clean and not blocked firstly
Pour a half a cup of white vinegar straight into the bottom (sump) of the dishwasher and run it on fast wash.
The vinegar has a small acidic base which breaks down fats etc.
This may fix the problem, or there could be another problem. It would be hard to tell without looking at the unit itself.

Dishwasher has power and water but rinse arms are not working
Vicky,
I understand that your LDF8812 fills with water (and drains?) but is not cleaning and you are not hearing the unit wash. Are the dishes on either rack getting wet at all?
-Are you getting any error codes in the display?
On LG dishwashers, the upper and the lower arms never spin at the same time. Rather the vario check valve routes all water pressure either up or down.
The arms turn because the wash motor turns the pump (impeller) which drives the water to/through the wash arms. If the wash motor was faulty, you almost always get an error code. So the problem is probably caused by a blockage of the "plumbing" in the sump area beneath the lower wash arms. But first check all three wash arms to confirm that the holes are not blocked. (How cool is it that the light inside this model helps you do that?)
Next use a screw driver to remove the filter assembly in the sump area. There are 10 screws to remove, but first you need to firmly lift the lower spray arm directly up and out.
Inspect the entire sump area for debris. Watch out for broken glass! Look closely at the white area near the back for blockages at the check valve.
Please report back what you find and we will take the next step. OK?
