LG LDF8812 Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher - Page 8 Questions & Answers
LG dishwasher, it pumps out ok on start up in any program, but gives an OE error
The water inlet valve is an electrically-controlled valve that opens to allow water to enter the dishwasher. Depending on the model, the valve stays open either for a set length of time or until the dishwasher has enough water. However, if the water inlet valve doesn't shut off after the dishwasher has enough water, the dishwasher will overflow. If water drips into the dishwasher when the door is open, or if water collects at the bottom of the dishwasher while it is not use, you may need to replace the water inlet valve.
I have a lg dishwasher and it ran for an hour and a half and then displayed E1 on it. Then, it would not stop running and wouldnt even turn off so i had to turn it off by the breaker. any solutions?
(1) The water inlet valve is an electrically-controlled valve that opens to allow water to enter the dishwasher.
(2) The float switch actuates in order to prevent the dishwasher from overflowing. If the float switch is defective or stuck, it might not stop the dishwasher from overflowing. If the float switch is defective, replace it.
One would need the model number of your machine.
Machine stopped and bells rang
It sounds like the water pump has seized judging from the noise that you were hearing.
When the water seals become old and worn, water seeps through and ends up in the pump motor bearings, which corrode and eventually fail.
Open the machine up and check the pump, they are not repairable, will have to be replaced should this be the case.
What does the snowflake mean
It looks like a snowflake but it actually represents "sparkle" and it is telling you that your rinse aid is running low. Fill up the dispenser (its right next to where you add detergent) and the light should go away. I just noticed mine was on, so I added some Jet Dry and sure enough, no more light.
