If you are not able to find it then it is probably behind a metal cover as it happens most of the times. Do you see any metal plates covering any of the boards? If yes then thats where you should look. If you cannot find it then please get me a picture of the chassis with the back cover removed and I will spot it for you. You can upload the image to imageshack.us and get me the direct link to the image.

hello,
First before your remote can turn on or off your television, the television has to be on standby mode.
But if it is on standby mode and the remote does not turn on the television, then there is a problem with the remotes on and off button.
To fix this, get a screwdriver to unscrew the remove the screw of the manual, get a flat object (like a credit card) and run it along the line by the side of the remote to split it in two.
Use naphthalene and a brush to clean the panel of the remote, dry it and Check the off and on rubber to see if it is not worn out, then you can couple the remote back together.
Test the off and on button, but ensure you have the television on standby mode.
Take care
