Sylvania LD370SS8 37 in. LCD Television - Page 7 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Do a factory reset to this set, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ The most probable cause is with its audio output IC itself; overheats.

Try unplugging it from power for a while, 10-15 minutes, then plug it back in and try it again. If it still doesnt work then chances are the power supply inside needs repair. The most common problem with LCD tv's is failing capacitors in the power supply, they appear to have power and the standby light comes on but they just refuse to turn on.

My guess is that you will have to run a factory restore.
If you have vital important data on the tablet that you cannot loose then you should be thinking about that first.
I recommend you search youtube.com for alternate possible solutions. To backup your data one might be to boot to linux using a usb-pen drive or DVD, Barts Boot disk is another option which may enable booting into WinXP OS to backup your important data before applying a Factory Restore. If this is a laptop (After you have performed the Factory Restore) I encourage you to download a copy of Macrium Reflect and learn how to use it to create a backup of your system. Then if it ever happens again you will be able to restore a previously saved image that is not infected.

viruses dont affect a dvd player however it does seem that maybe there is an issue with the dvd player panel if its opened up and the picture of it remains even after restarting the dvd player with no disk then the LCD panel needs replacement if you meant a computer please install Zemana AntiMalware or Malwarebytes AntiMalware on your pc and do a full system scan also use ADWCleaner as well

Try using code search on your remote to find something that works. If a search through all codes stored in the remote fails, you may have to try a different universal remote. All universal remotes do not contain all possible codes.

The tape mechanism belts have stretched and the unit is not running properly. When this happens, microprocessor is programmed to eject tape and shut down unit.

I assume you mean the TV/DVD player. There is an Eject button on the front panel of the TV. This is the fourth button from the right. (The power button is the right-most button.) The TV does need to be on to eject the DVD.

I hope this helps.

(note: if you used a mini-disc or have two discs inside the slot, the eject feature won't work.)

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; to which you want set-up codes; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window" to get gathered related posts.

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.
