TV takes a long time to come on, then after a while, it starts turning on and off.

This LCD might have a defective power supply. I would suggest to open the back cover and inspect the power supply for swelling/bulging capacitors that are located near CN801. Check the following link to find the power supply: http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-bn44-00184a-power-supply-unit.htm

My TV has a severe flicker/jitter in the bottom left quadrant of the screen. How do I fix it?

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Not sure if this will help, but most caps fail with the in rush of power, over and over. Sounds like they were not made right. You might try a UPS ( uninterrupted Power Supply) this may help you with dirty power from your power company. And with high spikes. Make sure you get one that will handle the TV current draw. As far as upping the CAPs keep the same or slightly high voltage and increase in uf. You might find one that has the same uf and a higher voltage rating that will handle it.

TV takes a very long time to come on, then after a while, it starts turning on and off. Eventually, it will stay on for several hours.

Televisions of Samsung have lots of problems when there areTaiwan capacitors of bad quality insite the mainpowerboard . Replace all the TAIWAN made capacitors much are blowup (they are not flat on the top but little round Lelon Teapo and or other green or blue capacitors around 10 V change for 16 V type and 25 v for 35 or 50V type and also all the 3 watt resistors in the powerboard of this chassis.
