Yamaha Receiver RX-V3800 Rear Left surround click sound
It's possible it is some sort of interference pickup, but another possible I've come across a number of times on Yamahas is poor earth connections via the back panel.
All the circuit boards have earth connections on them and the screws holding them to the back panel form an earth bonding connection. Tighten all the screws on the back to eliminate this possibility. Costs nothing to try and may just solve it.
Cannot get GUI interface on
Can have different reasons: 1)The output and input for the picture are connected to different types of video jacks. => Set ?Conversion? to ?On? or connect your source components in the same way as you connect your video monitor to this unit. 2) This unit outputs the video signals are not supported on the video monitor connected to the HDMI OUT jack.=> Set the ?INITIALIZE? to ?VIDEO? to reset the video parameters. 3) Set ?MONITOR CHECK? to ?YES?. 126 4) Pure Direct mode is active. Turn off the Pure Direct mode. 5) Non-standard video signals are input.

No sound when using Panny plasma with RX-V3800
Let me see if I understand. You have one HDMI cable linking your TV and AVR? This is only to send video and sound out to your TV from the AVR you will not be able to send sound back over this same cable. You'll have to use the TVs audio out and connect it to an input of the AVR. The "HDMI out" on the AVR is just that Out and not In. Remote do not want to accept satellite tuner code
You can find the remote control codes for different brands
of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv
If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:
1. Searching For Your Code
If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your
brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try
the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you
reach the end of all the codes for this device type.
- PRESS
the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.),
then RELEASE.
- PRESS
and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
- ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
- ALTERNATE
slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.)
button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY
instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You
may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the
entire library of codes.
- When
your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in
the code for your device.
Remote for the 3800
I assume you were just entering manufacture codes. Some times this won't give you all the features you're looking for (like skipping tracks). Try going through the manual to assign buttons a particular function. It's a learning remote so it can learn from your other remotes by putting the two facing one another and going through the necessary button sequence laid out in the yamaha manual (page 104 in the RX-V1800 manual, it's in the advanced operation section)
CAUTION: All buttons are reprogrammable so make sure you have your source slider (on the right side of the remote) set to Source and not AMP or you'll overwrite the Amp functions and you'll have to reset the remote to factory settings and start over.
