Player can be made to work without remote. But it is a pain.

Check on the back panel for a fuse. Usually a black knob with a curved arrow going 1/2 circle. push in and turn counter-clock wise or unscrew to release the fuse. Hopefully it has one like that. Easy to get to. Hope it has that, if not...idk. Oh yea, don't go by eye determining if its good or not, use a multi-tester to know for sure.

before u start with surround sound speakers make sure that u run everthing threw aux what ever you have your speakers connected to u have to look in the back of the of the conection and connect your rca jacks to the aux input then you sould hear sound if not check your amp to see if it works
Where to connect subwoofer
The subwoofer has its own RCA output on the back of the receiver and needs to be plugged by RCA cable from the receiver to the sub. This would be for an "active subwoofer" with its own amplifier and crossover that needs to be plugged into the wall.
