After a long effort searching on Google, I found a solution. There is a Late night setting on the remote that limits the loud sounds scenes so it is not much loader than the dialog. Works great, I can't believe I never notice the button before.

The only thing to test would be to disconnect all speaker wires at the receiver then turn it back on. If it still won't turn on, it's an internal power supply issue and will need service. If it turns on, post a comment and I can walk you thru further troubleshooting. Hope this helps

Best bet is to visit your local Radio Shack. They have several options that can be easily mounted in your attic. expect to pay about $80 for a high quality antenna plus you will need some basics for installing which will run about $30.
Don't waste your time with trying out the small ones that sit on top of your TV as they are worthless.
There is nothing to "set" on the receiver you will just split the coax cable coming from the antenna to your TV, VCR and then to the receiver, once the antenna is aimed you should pick up FM stations clearly.
The Radio Shack salesperson should be able to tell you what direction to aim it to or see this site.

Goof information. Have you eliminated or proven the Onkyo as a cause by going direct to the projector? Try another Input and/or Output. It's best to know which component is broken and if it's limited to a specific subset of its function.
Settings are also indicated. Run through the video setup again. If it just stopped, what preceded it?
Hdmi out [of amp damaged needs replacing onkyo tx sr605
You will need to contact Onkyo directly and request the board from the parts department. I was not able to locate a part number for this as we are usually requested to perform component level repairs for these units.

Onkyo tx-SR605 - how do I use as a processor and
IF and only if, your receiver has connections labeled as "pre-out" can it be connected to an external amplifier.
If it does, then you connect from the left and right channels from the receiver, to the left and right channel on the amplifier.
Amp protection circuit has been
1-check your input cables from connected equipments(cd player or dvd p

2-adjust your input signal level(from-10 db to 0 db).
3-amplifier power must be bigger than total power of all loudspeaker with 20%----(if total power of loudspeaker is 8 watt amplifier must be 10 watt.

Connecting directly to the TV is ideal....but then you would have to connect the audio through coax or optical unless the bluray player had an additional HDMI out.
So...what connection is going from the receiver to the television when it does not provide picture? If you do not have HDMI, DVI or component video going from the receiver back to the TV then you won't get a picture. However, you may not also get a picture if the video output resolution is adjustable in the receiver as well and does not match...make sure that the TV is set to the same resolution as the receiver, and that the video output of the player is also set the same.
I've gone through all of the setup procedures,
Steve,
I would forget the TV for now. I would use another input source to confirm where the problem is. I would hook up a CD or DVD player to it and check that the speakers are working as they should. If they do work, you may have a bad cable from the TV. Or the new TV is not set for surround sound. It may be as simple as selecting the proper decoder from the TV menu.
Onkyo - mainboard issue
Unless you hear the speaker relay click about 6 seconds after powering on.
Chances are it needs output transistors and a few resistors. $100 is a fair price. they are not the most tech friendly things to work on ( no removable bottom panel ) you must remove everything except the front panel and power transformer to access the bottom.
I wish to reduce the level of sound coming from
On your remote control, first press the "RECEIVER" button followed by the "SETUP" button.
Here is a link to the user manual (bottom right corner of page):

From page 70 onwards it is explained how to set up the speaker levels.
Alternatively you could of course adjust the volume on the subwoofer itself. Most (active) subwoofers nowadays offer an output volume adjustment.
Good luck.
