Check the three microswitches in the latch assembly.

There is electrical problem in your microwave heating circuit. This is a fire hazard and you should stop using this microwave and unplug from the outlet. This is not something you can fix and the fuse does not protect your system anymore. The best choice is to purchase a new one and throw this away.

Hi, probably something happened with the PCB due to an abnormal current fluctuation. You should go to a service center.

There are fuses inside. The big thing is to figure out why the fuse went bad. either something shorted and blew the fuse, or it got hot and went bad due to bad connections at fuse holder. or maybe a bad door switch blew the fuse. I have also had fuses just get old and tired., and just needed to be replaced.

Are you sure about the model number? Many Emerson appliance manuals are available here: http://www.emersonradio.com/owner_manuals.php . However, no MW9938 microwave is listed. There is an MW9338SB and an MW9998SB. Similar models that have 9 as the last digit are also listed. Please add a comment after double-checking the model number. a blown fuse is a dead short of the circuit it could be a failed power board , control board , megatron, light wire anything powered by the fuse good advice is to take it in for a proper diagnosis and quote

they have a built in overload thermo cut out when it is on for a long time it will cut out cool down and should be ok to use again

It could be the control panel, or anything between it and the high voltage transformer.

I've had an Emerson microwave/grill for about 5 years now and love it!! To use the grill function you just hit "grill/combo" then hit the buttons up above the grill/combo button for however many minutes or seconds you want, then hit "Start" button. make sure your using a metal dish.
