The display screen is showing the word "SEARCHING" on the screen, can't get the phone to work, cannot pick up an incoming call, the display also displays "HANDSET OUT OF RANGE" WHEN ANY BUTTON IS DEPR

From the Uniden support site. You can first try a Basic Reset.

A reset is done by following the below steps: 1. Disconnect the battery from handset(s) 2. Disconnect Phone Cord from wall jack 3. Disconnect Phone cord from base unit 4. Disconnect AC adapter from wall outlet 5. Allow to sit for 30 min 6. Reconnect Phone Cord to base 7. Reconnect Phone cord to wall jack 8. Reconnect AC Adapter to wall outlet 9. Reconnect battery into handset until you click or feel the plug snap into place 10. Re-Register Handset by placing on main base reference

Why is red light blinking on phone?

Answer phone message is being indicated by red light and the number 4 is how many messages are received! Listen to message and then delete!

One of my extension phones is dead. It's a phone that's not used much so I suspect the battery died but would like to know for sure.

Yes. The battery will go bad if they are not cycled regularly. You should be able to get a replacement from radio shack. Make sure to recycle the old batteries at a drop at lowes so they will not end up in a land fill.

My voice mail doesn't work. I cannot get more than 2 rings on my incoming calls.

Press.MENU/SELECT > Ans. Setup menu > Ring Time submenu Select a Ring time - Toll Saver, 2, 4 or 6 rings. Press MENU/SELECT once again to get a confirmation tone. The Toll saver setting is for if you are checking voicemail on a Long distance call, the call rolls over to the voicemail immediately if there are new messages

Not the ringer volume - I want the sound volume increased. I can not hear what people are saying

With many Uniden DECT 6.0 phones, pressing up-arrow during a call will raise the volume. If this doesn't do it, please add a comment to this question and specify the model of your Uniden DECT 6.0 phone.

The buttons on the right side of the phone do not work. Why?

I think it is one type of short circuit in between the both the number in a keyboard....so kindly take it to authorized service center

is that "mute" symbol on the base or handset? i have a panasonic dect 6.0 you just have to press off/flash on the handset or the sp phone switch on the base set.

Handset says searching

Searching means its searching for a signal. If the phone cant contact the base it will say searching. Make sure the handset is in range of the base and the base is connected to the power.
