did it blow the in line fuse,if it did the casing is live and it has gone to ground in other words did it touch the metal of the car

its trying to find the main base unit put it in its cradle and let it search for it as long as it is not to far away

get some one to ring u and keep talking to same as u press the up arrow in the centre of phome

Bad antenna or you didn't let it charge for 12-24 hours as stated in manual for set-up. Some phones have to be set in the "charging dock" so the handset will be recognized by the charging dock.

Could be line cord connection at base or other wiring issue. Do you have a different phone(s) at same location that work? If you have a known good phone, the simpler the better, unplug all other tele devices at your location and verify the know good phone works?

You need to dry it out completely. A few centrifugal swings around your shoulder might remove much of the water. Then try one of these drying methods: Place it on a register or AC vent for a day or so might be the best way to get it dry. Afterwards, (if trying to operate it didn't short out a component,) it might work again.

With what kind of batteries you've renewed? Are they rechargeable?

Generally the connectors are not interchangable, BUT make sure that the batteries are the same model. Also, they might be CHEAP knock offs that are faulty.

Reinitializing the base and then relinking the base to each handset may be necessary. You may have done these procedures when you first setup the phones. If the owners manual does not cover this procedure, you can try Philips technical support.

It should say on the bottom of the base unit. I would expect 5-6 volt 500ma. That would be the size that would charge those batteries.
