Toshiba 65HM167 65" Projection Television - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Why would lamp go bad after replacing chip?
Did you have to remove the lamp during the chip replacement? If so, did you physically touch the glass of the lamp with your skin? Oils from the skin can cause lamp failures due to hot spots that can form on the glass.
Lamp went out on the tv. We replaced but there is
okay you have to make sure you close the door that the buld goes into there is a liitle micro switch that only triggers when the cover is removed it stops the tv from lighting up the bulb once you close the door and all are put back together properly the tv will come on if it dosent you need to read in between the flashing codes
65hm7 toshiba tv fuse
If ur referring to the 125volt,6.3 amp fuse it is At the rear of tv, where the power cord comes out of tv. U will need to remove the bottom back panel held by +-10 screws(much easier than it sounds) u will see fuse next to where power cord attaches to circuit board. Let me know if that helps or u need pix.

It says I need code to get some stationd
This could be caused by your channel receiver picking up a new channel, like a scrambled sky channel.
Do you have a standalone receiver like, MYSky or Free-view, Dish TV or similar.
These usually scan for new channels occasionally and find channels that need codes or are scrambled.
Maybe you have a content lock on the TV to prevent the viewer from accessing some channels.
What does light engine cost and how do I replace
If you have the white dots issue, you can replace just the DLP chip. I did it, took about 45 minutes after watching a youtube video. Here's the one I bought. Been about a year and no new problems. http://www.shopjimmy.com/mitsubishi-276p595010-dlp-chip-dmd-ic-new-original.htm $189.
How to fix my 65" toshiba white pixel problem
Thats caused by the DLP chip. Unfortunately most Toshiba models will end up having to have both the DLP chip and the formatter board replaced at the same time to fix the issue where as other models only require replacing the DLP chip alone to fix the white dots issue
Tv is say lamp door open
Remove the lamp door and inspect the door switch. You probobly didn't get the door seated correctly.
Blinking yellow light ,no picture or sound.
You have done all you can do. If you had a power outage, when the power came back on a it surged and probably caused a Power Supply problem or something in the micro controller to fail. Either way it 's not good. I would call Toshiba and let them guide you to a Service Facility that can check it out. Depending on your Homeowners Insurance, repairs could be coverd or unit be replaced depending on cost to repair.
Sorry I am not able to help further,

65" projection toshiba power fuse blows
You have a dangerous situation here---All modern units (Lamps, TV's, everything) Have a polarized power cord---one side of plug the pin is smaller than other side. The large side goes to the neutral side of the electrical outlet. One of two things has happened---either a issue with the electrical outlet which is rather rare except in older houses that have the old style electrical outlets (both pins the same size) Or someone has managed to get a cord in backwards--filed down the large lug on the power cord and put it in backwards. What happens and can be tested is with it backwards you have "potential" 120 volts being fed back into the cable wire itself--DO NOT KEEP CHANGING THE FUSE--a simple test with a voltmeter set to AC (wall) voltage from a earth ground (water pipe of metal will show 120 volts on the coax. The touchy part is any set in the house misconnected can feed this back via the coax! The cable company may be able to help or NOT> an electrician will be able. The way I would locate this is with the volt meter hooked to the coax I would disconnect the cable feed from each set or unit in the house one at a time until no voltage reading---then you would know which is causing this issue.Be advised it can spark which can destroy parts in any of the sets or equipment.Kind of like if you got shocked when you touched the metal on your car.....something bad is happening. Please if need ANY help comment here and I will assist.
White dots on tv
Usually a bad optical light engine in the set, most expensive part of the set.
Ballast problem?
The ballast is possible if it does not light the lamp even for a few moments----about the lamp= generic bulb or a OEM Toshiba lamp unit?
