Dlp chip replacement
This is one of those interesting and maybe amusing urban myths. The DLP display chip if you could even find and purchase the correct one is well out of the range of being a repair even the most well equipped shops would even consider attempting. The special part and the equipment needed to replace it (forget using chip quick and an isolated soldering station) just are not cost effective or practical at all. Most who wanted to do this had a unit with pixel issues and considering that many but not all optical engines can be purchased rebuilt under exacting conditions what is to be gained here?My view is if the display IC package is bad either live with it, replace the optical engine or buy a new set.Just my views and do not represent the views of Fixya.com or some other "experts".
No sound
Hello, there are so many reasons why your TV won't bring out sound. You need to troubleshoot first, in order to get to the root of the problem, before a solution can be proffered.First, connect a DVD player to the TV, observe if there is going to be sound. If there is still no sound after connecting the DVD player to the TV, proceed to the next step. "The reason why I asked you to connect a DVD player to the TV is to confirm if the problem is simply not from the audio cord connected to the TV."Second, get an headset, connect it to the earphone jack of the TV and observe if there is going to be sound. If there is no sound, then it is glaring now that your TV is having a defective sound card/IC that's why it is not bring out any sound. (Note that connecting an headset to your TV is optional because not all TV's has a space for headset). "The reason why I asked you to connect an headset to the TV is to also confirm if problem is not from the TV speaker. Though TV speaker problems are rare but sometimes, the TV speaker might be defective or the speaker wires may have loosed contact or cut into two, due to one reason or the other. But if the headset doesn't bring out any sound from the TV, then it is not so."If none of the above seems not to be the cause of the problem, then the above troubleshooting has confirmed that the TV has got a defective sound card/ic. The sound IC/card of the TV has to be replaced for the TV to bring out sound again. To be honest with you, replacing or fixing the sound card/ic of your TV requires the ability or experience to do so.Now, if you are convinced you can fix or replace this yourself, please reply so that i can help you further. And make sure you troubleshoot first, before getting back to me.Regards.
My Toshiba 65HM167 orignal bulb went out after 19
I have the same problem. This is the second bulb in 6 months. The first one lasted 13 months. The bulb explodes inside and makes a loud snap noise, like an arc. The repair guy said it was the ballast along with the bulb. Good luck
High pitched noise coming from my tv
is the TV a CRT, plasma,LED or LCDCRT is a very old type which consists of a vacuum tube that has an electron gun that shoots energy at the front of the screen where pixels divide the light into 3 colours RED BLUE GREENLCD, LED and plasma are the most modern of which run in high definition. CRTs are very bulky, while the other 3 types are slim and light, if it is a CRT, drop the colours to a lower setting and it should silence it, I had to do this countless times with my computer's monitor as it is a CRT.
How to install toshiba dlp light chip
This is a part of folk lore, the DLP display "chip" is not available from the company who made this (or for that matter any other brand) and even if it was you would need the $1,000 plus desoldering station to attempt its replacement. What is your problem? dots? if that is it the answer is either buy a optical light engine or buy a new set.
My tv's screem is little dark
Hello
If you set the lamp mode to LOW POWER, each time you turn ON the TV the lamp will start out at HIGH BRIGHT mode, but will switch to Low Power mode after a short period of time. You may notice a change in screen brightness when this happens. This is not a malfunction.
Just check whether you have selected this mode. Go to its user manual [P57]. All details are there about the lamp brightness settings. If it is not set to Low Power and still you get a dim picture, the lamp may be weak and has to be repaced. OK.
Yellow blinking light on Toshiba 65HM167
I fixed mine with the same exact issue! Thanks to the folks at avsforums. Get a 4gb or smaller SD card, download the firmware from the toshiba support website, place it on the card. Unplug tv, put card in tv in the service port, plug in the tv! 3 yellow lights should turn to a blue solid light, unplug the tv again, remove the sd card. Plug it back in and enjoy!

Hello,
Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Hoping that this will help to solve the problem, and do take care in handling the television because it contain high voltages...
My tv clicks on and
Hi
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your TV and look at the power supply on the left hand side.
You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this helps
