Your DLP chip is failing. The tiny micro mirrors within this chip are stuck. More white dots will appear over time until it looks like a star field on your screen. Most places will tell you that you need a new light engine, however you can replace the DLP chip itself and it will take you about 30 mins. You can find the chip online for around $349 but I think I have DLP chip you need brand new for $225. If you are interested in this contact me. tharizen@yahoo.com

Hi, Your problem has to be a defect in the optical engine. Cost of replacing this unit can run from $800 to $1200. Call Mits at 800-332-2119 with model, serial and date of purchase. They should be willing to help. Thx

CK the Lamp Fan if it stops running when Lamp starts to light set will shut off.
Ballast board is what powers Lamp on.

Yes... from the moment the lamp is put into service, it begins to deminish in brightness. You should order a replacement lamp to have on hand.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
If blinks continue without any pause, or the LED light stationery; the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; [Exclude the model number], in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts. Basing the replacement of the board on the clicking sound of a relay trying to close is not a safe bet. The first thing you need to do is check the bulb. Then there is a ballast board and then the Power supply board. Parts might be hard to find. Use the website I listed to see what part numbers are then google it or look on eba or amazon for those parts. Mitsubishi WD 60C8 TV Parts

Most likely a fuse blew when the lamp blew, there is internal fuses on the power supply board on these mitsubishi's, if the fuse is ok though then most likely another component somewhere failed.
