Leaks once in a while

The most likely problem is that your drain hole has either ice/frost builup or maybe a label from a bottle clogging it up. A hair dryer would melt the ice/frost and clear it and if not then a piece of wire probing down it would clear a clog.

My ice machine is not working ... I haven't

Make sure the on off switch is in the On position. If there is one it's a small white rocker switch on the ice maker. Make sure the wire bar is down, if there is one. if this dose not work you may have to change the water inlet solenoid on the back of the refrigerator.

My kenmore side by side is working the freezer the

Sounds like you have a defrost problem which is evident by your description.
Try putting freezer into defrost and see what happens.

To initiate a defrost cycle, open the door and push the light switch in and out 5 times within 6 seconds. The compressor and fans should shut off and the defrost heater should come on. Open the door and push the light switch in and out 5 times within 6 seconds to remove the refrigerator from the defrost mode and back into a cooling mode.

I want to buy a portable generator?

most,if not all, genys, produce enough power to run several freezers, you only need about 500 watts max for one.....touble is, you need a self start generator so when temp low it starts and correct temp it stops, sort that problem and you save a fortune in gas.....its cheaper to buy a gas unit and bottled gas.

Only Crushed Ice

Solenoid behind the ice receiver gets iced up and prevents the baffle in the front of the receiver from changing between crushed and cube.

Remove the receiver and the receiver bracket (two screws on the bottom and lift up. Caution, the wiring must be unplugged!!!) Then thaw the solenoid and spray with teflon spray.

Re-assemble and try to switch between crush and cube.

Clean the coils.

If you have then there is a small fan that blows air across these coils, it is on when your freezer turns on. This would allow you to see if fan works. (usually when the fan fails you loose your freezer, bad repair people won't tell you to check fan)

Seals are a big issue. A good test put dollar bill into the door and try to pull out with door closed. It should be hard to remove. Seals are cheaper than new frig. A small air leak will lower cooling

Ice maker

The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.

Ice maker constantly runs

You do not have the actuator postioned correctly on the switch inside the door. The lever has to press up against the switch when you push it. Re-postion the lever.

Panel resets

Hi Tim, there was a service flash out on this model which has to do with the circuit board in the dispensor. Frigidaire has redesigned this board causing your problems. This should be covered under this service flash. The number of the service flash is 46-470. The solution is to replace the water filter and dispenser board. Contact Frigidaire and inquire about the service flash. Refers that were included in this flash have the serial numbers between LA113---- to LA146----. If yours fall into this range you should be covered. Circuit board kit number is 240533603. Your model is included in this flash...Catriver..post back.
